Research And Application Of Phoenix And Bird Images In Chu Culture

The Phoenix plays an important role and influence in the Chu culture of Jianghan area.It is also endowed with beautiful cultural implication and spiritual sustenance.The image of Phoenix can be found in bronze,jade,lacquer wood and textiles.This shows people's special feelings for Phoenix in Chu state.From the performance of Phoenix Art,Phoenix is not completely divorced from the basic characteristics of objective things,but it has been reimagined and replayed on the basis of fully conforming to people's aesthetic idea.The cultural and artistic temperament of the Phoenix in Jianghan also determines that the schema of Chu art is not simple and rational,but also is full of sensibility and imagination.The first part introduces the background,purpose,significance,research methods,current situation at home and abroad,the key and difficult points of the paper and innovations.Then we will review the previous research and discussion of phoenix dermatolgyphic patterns to provide a new vision for the research and application of this paper.The second part is an overview of Chu culture.It mainly introduces the history and culture of Chu state,and analyzes the factors that can affect the pattern of Phoenix in Chu state,including the geographical environment,natural climate,natural resource,and the social and economic conditions at that time.The third part discusses the categories and elements of phoenix patterns in ancient Chu Dynasty,analyzes its cultural background and implication,further explores forms of the expressions and aesthetic characteristics of phoenix patterns,and summarizes the characteristics and changing rules of phoenix patterns.From research of the interaction between practical function and spiritual function,we can get its significant and decorating rules.Finally,the paper compares the differences between the phoenix patterns in other different historical periods and the Chu period and analyzes the application and deduction of the phoenix patterns in different periods.The fourth part shows the inspiration of the phoenix pattern of Chu state to the modern design.Through the case analysis and conclusion,I inspire a group of my own visual image design.The pattern of Phoenix has a long history accumulating the rich artistic thought and cultural connotation of the ancients in China.It is a decorative theme with strongvitality.It has great historic significance of studying and reinterpreting the theme of Phoenix for the promotion and protection of China's intangible cultural heritage.In addition,we should make it clear about the importance of phoenix pattern inheritance and integrate modern aesthetic concepts and ideas through deduction and recreation,so that these traditional phoenix patterns can be understood and loved by contemporary people.This is also our responsibility of protecting and inheriting excellent cultural heritage.
