Alice Munro was a Canadian virtuoso in writing short stories.Her creation followed the Canadian tradition of English literature and absorbed modernism to form a unique narrative style,which led her to be a person of consequence in Canadian English literature.The own meandering experience and the special position of being woman provided her with a wealth of creative inspiration and the window to experience and express life.The biggest new feature of her creation was presented in magnificent and changeable narrative techniques.The traditional realism style was presented in her early works.However,she sorted her works into modernism literature successfully by diversified narrative means.Starting from the identity of female writers,Munro uses different narrative techniques to show her concern for female group.The unreliable narration was the most dramatic conflict in her works.Her concern about the lack of discursive power for women and the marginalized population was expressed by calling in question the discursive power,which counted as very important step to speak for women's rights.And in her works the exploration of human nature and the display of predicament were expressed by the unreliable narration in dramatic reversal.Her works were good at narrating from different perspectives and charming their way out of the shackle that were presented from the same perspective of which focused perspectives could show people's heart further.Different from many writers who made full use of various focuses to realize flexible transformation in their works,Monroe's uniqueness resulted from that she could adjust the focused viewpoint and cover the noticed heart appropriately,and achieved the modern display of narration by techniques.Still,the most common narrative feature in her work was non-linear narration.She restructured every story by breaking the logical order of time,such as divided them into different narrative levels and interlaced them at different time nodes,split and fused irrelevant stories to make them mutual complement,took mental,psychological and memorial stream of consciousness stories to break the logic of narration and disassemble them by which them could be presented completely different.She presented the absurdity of the world and the confusion of modern spirit to the readers by deconstructing the normal logic of the objective existence in stories,which led her works to be seemed in pieces and nutty.For her,it was the basic way to know the world and important way to o show the world she had known.The great finesse makes narrative technique play the most distinctive role in Munro's works.Understanding the narrative art in Monroe's works is an important access to comprehend Alice Munro and indispensable step to be familiar with Canadian literature and even contemporaryfemale literature further.
