Research On The Construction Of Educational Functional Prison Culture

Prison Culture Construction plays a more and more important role in the reform of criminals,with the development of the times.Education can not only reflect the way of realizing one's value,but also the means of realizing social value.Educational function prison culture construction is of absolute positive significance in reforming criminals.In the new period,the focus of the reform of China's prisons has also changed—in the past,the prison authorities made an emphasis on labor reform,which means criminals had to work in prison to realize their rehabilitation,but in the long-term practice,it was found that this transformation has no obvious effect,for which some scholars suggested that the proportion of education reform should be increased,and the criminals should be reformed with the help of the cultural construction of prison,so that they could integrate into society and adapt to social life in a short time after the release of the sentence,and the education can also restrain criminals' behaviour and reduce their tendency to recommit crimes.All these reasons prompted the author to carry out this study.Firstly,the definitions of prison culture and educational function prison culture are introduced,and then the present situation of the cultural construction of N prison in Shaanxi province was investigated and studied in this paper,finding that there were many deficiencies in the cultural construction of N prison in Shaanxi Province,such as the lack of material culture and behavioral culture,the imperfect system culture,and the failure of spiritual culture construction.After the in-depth analysis,it was found that all these were the product of the current government's inadequate investment and the less manpower in the construction of prison culture.What's more,the workers' lack of cognition on the cultural value of prison behavior easily leads to the mistakes in the work.Most prison workers have a poor understanding of prison cent and control of the prison is insufficient;the related resource allocation is unreasonable.All of these things led to the unhealthy and imperfect educational function culture construction of the N prison in Shaanxi Province,which thus brought an adverse effect on the re-engineering education of the criminals.So,the author puts forward several suggestions here which can help improve the educational level of the educational function prison culture—the first is to rebuilt the educational function prison culture;the second is to improve the quality of law enforcement officials;the third is to establish a scientific and rational system to guide the construction of educational function type prison culture;the fourth is to allocate various resources inside and outside the prison.Construction of educational function prison culture is regarded as a very complicated project with diversified situation in different prisons and without unified feasibility standard in the whole country,which has still not got enough attention from the government.Therefore,the author carried out the study to gain some experience,trying to improve the construction of educational function prison culture.
