Although Marx and Baumann were born in different times, they both put forward the idea of community.Based on the different historical backgrounds of the two men at that time, this paper makes a brief analysis and comparison of Marx's and Baumann's community theories.Marx, described the vision of the future society. He wanted to establish a real community "Free Man Consortium" in this form of society in which people have a high degree of freedom, which can restore human nature and achieve free and complete development.Baumann believes that the rapid development of capitalism accelerates the process of globalization.Under the control of consumption logic, the general characteristics of individual life are uncertainty, mobility and lack of security.Baumann explored the relationship between freedom and uncertainty in order to rebuild a real community.Marx put forward the idea of community and historical materialism to achieve the unity of history and logic. This paper will make a comparative study of Baumann's and Marx's community thoughts. The first chapter mainly introduces the ideological connotation of Marx's community-the background of the times when Marx's community thought came into being and the three main stages of the development of Marx's community thought. The second chapter mainly discusses the definition of Baumann's community theory, explains the theoretical origin and practical exploration of Baumann's community thought. He wants to rebuild the "real community" by guaranteeing the basic income of individuals economically, restoring the political identity of citizens, and combining responsibility for others with the establishment of global politics.Chapter three focuses on the relationship and difference between Baumann's "real community" theory and Marx's "free man association".Both Baumann and Marx take the realistic social development as the support and foundation of their community ideological development, and have coincidence in discussing the issue of human social development. At the economic level,in order to seek individual autonomy,Baumann emphasized the protection of individual basic income, and Marx advocated the reconstruction of individual ownership;however, the ideological context of the two people's problem-solving is different.Baumann explores the contradiction between freedom and certainty and seeks the power of harmony.Marx is to insist on thoroughly discarding the alienation of human nature.Chapter four mainly discusses the enlightenment and significance to the construction of human destiny community. We should coordinate the relationship between individual development and community development, ensure mutual benefit and win-win cooperation among members of the community, strengthen exchanges and cooperation in various fields, and ensure the interests of members.
