Song Dynasty is an important era for the development of Chinese feudal society, and its legal system is also the accumulation and sublimation of thousands of years of experience of Chinese legal system. The Song Dynasty was in a new stage of social and historical development in ancient China. The changes of economic base and superstructure inevitably promoted the changes of people's thinking. The corresponding economic legislation has been developed and enriched, which has become an active period in the history of Chinese economic law.As an important part of the legal system of Song Dynasty, the economic law of Song Dynasty played an important role in promoting the economic development of Song Dynasty. In order to increase the national financial revenue and strengthen the control and management of economic activities, the rulers of the Song Dynasty formulated detailed laws from financial supervision, agricultural and commercial taxation, market and handicraft industry management, official prohibition, foreign trade management and other aspects.Studying the economic legal system of Song Dynasty, investigating its specific content, analyzing its characteristics and impeding effects on the economic activities at that time are of great significance to the development of ancient Chinese economic legal system. The limitations of the feudal small-scale peasant economy in Song Dynasty's economic legislation led to the encouragement of the development of commodity economy within the permitted scope on the one hand, and hindered the further development of commodity economy on the other. The dual nature of economic and legal system in Song Dynasty ultimately failed to realize the continuous development of national economy. Its profound historical lessons deserve our attention.
