Orphaned and disabled young people are a special vulnerable group in society because of physical disability and lack of family. In our country, the mode of residential care for orphans and disabled people is more common through welfare institutions such as welfare homes. In the care of residential care homes, because of the complexity of the personnel composition in the institution, the administrative and closed nature of the institution, and the personality of the caregiver, the caregivers often face difficulties in adapting to the institution after entering the institution. The author will use "the group work can be successfully carried out through activities to enhance the resilience and cognitive ability of the orphans and disabled youth in the institution, and at the same time build an informal social support network based on peer groups for the disabled orphans to strengthen the accommodation adaptation” as a research hypothesis, based on the theory of empowerment, social learning theory, superior perspective theory and social support theory, data are collected through literature research, observation, and interview methods, and needs assessments are made.Set up six activity scenarios for the group problem hypothesis,Then,a process assessment of the team's team members, the team's overall and group goals is achieved after each session. In the evaluation of the results, the author found that the group activities basically achieved the group's goals, the group's satisfaction was higher, and the author also had a course in the practice.Problems such as lack of experience have been reflected. It can be seen that it is promising for the group to intervene in the homes for the disabled orphans. In the future, institutions and society should introduce more group work into the homes, break through the inherent mode of residential care and meet the needs of orphans and disabled youth.
