Since the second world war,east Asian countries have been actively promoting their own modernization process.This paper mainly studies the different stages of development after the war and the changes of leaders' identities in Singapore and South Korea in the process of promoting modernization.The first chapter is the introduct io n,mainly introduces the purpose and significance of the research,domestic and foreign research status,organizational structure and research methods,as well as the innovat io n of the paper;Chapter 2,chapter 3 and chapter 4 discuss the background,process and governing strategy of the generation of leaders from the first generation to the third generation in Singapore and South Korea.Chapter five il ustrates the identit y characteristics of three generations of leaders in Singapore and South Korea.Singapore and South Korea the first generation of leaders is professiona l revolutionaries,respectively,represented by lee kuan yew and syngman rhee,they face after the second world war,Africa and Latin America countries national independence movement,the power and legitimacy of colonial rule,domestic cal s for independence,their main business and the goal is to win and consolidate national independence.Lee kuan yew became the leader of the country through the formation of the people's action party(pap),and lee cheng-min established a pro-western regime in the south of Korea with the support of the United States.Their ruling strategies were to maintain nationa l security and independence and to restore and develop the economy to a certain extent.To the second generation of leaders have certain security national security,the country must carry on the construction of peace and development,face the nation behind the state of the economy and the people's expectations of economic development,politica l elite technocrats in the political arena,they pay more attention to economic development,and through the administrative reform and strengthen the power of the government for national construction,in Singapore,and South Korea respectively,represented by lee kuan yew and park chung-hee during their as national leaders,according to its own situation,make the correct economic development plan,and through various measures to promote the country's economic growth,in their tenure,Singapore and South Korea's rapid economic development,changed the face of poverty.With the rapid development of industrialization and modernization,social and economic structure has also changed,the past authoritarian system performance legitimacy is reduced,along with the advancement of the wave of democratization,the country's authoritarian system began to democracy and pluralism,in Singapore and South Korea,represented by lee and Kim young Sam's third generation of leaders,they is specialized is engaged in the political activities of professional politician or leader of the party,Their main goal is to conform to the trend of The Times and promote the construction of the country's democratic political system.During their leadership,they introduced various measures,which played a huge role in the democratization of the country and the construction of the democratic political system.
