The Theory Of Alliance Management And The Divergence Of The Alliance Relationship Between The United States And Australia After "9.11"

Alliance management theory is a branch of the alliance theory,which discusses the role of the alliance management in the maintenance of the alliance.However,the existing alliance theories focus on the establishment instead of the management process of the alliance.The dissertation formed an alliance management theory from existing alliance theories and the past researches,discussing how to manage an alliance effectively and its impacts on the destiny of the alliance.The interactive development of the U.S.-Australia alliance shows that improper alliance management may lead to differences and affect the stability of the alliance.Since the establishment of the alliance,cooperation has been the mainstream of the U.S.-Australia alliance.In the course of nearly 70 years of interaction,the United States has provided security defense and intelligence assistance to Australia and escorted Australia's security.Australia also facilitates the existence of the U.S.military,being an "outpost" for the Asia-Pacific strategy of the United States,and firmly supports the U.S.international operations.However,in recent years,differences in alliance relationship occurred in various fields.The improper management of the alliance is an important reason for the rise of differences and disagreements.Therefore,the dissertation analyzes the differences in the alliance relationship between the United States and Australia after the "September 11 incident" under the framework of the alliance management theory,and explains the reasons for the differences.It also analyzes China's role in this process and discusses how China should view the differences of the U.S-Australia alliance.
