As the industrial revolution unfolded and the capitalist system continued to develop, the emerging classes began to pursue matching political rights. When the economic crisis broke out in 1847,more and more people began to be dissatisfied with the July dynasty, which symbolized the big bourgeoisie. The petty bourgeois republicans sought to change the status to adapt to the needs of capitalist development. The proletariat solicited universal suffrage and participated in the determination of state affairs. The February Revolution broke out, overthrowing the July dynasty. The interim government announced the implementation of general elections and lifted restrictions on property and status, only nationality and age.But the fruits of the victory of the final revolution were stolen by Napoleon III,and universal suffrage became a tool for his monopoly.Although the last beneficiary of this revolution in 1848 was Napoleon III,the unfolding of universal suffrage had a huge impact. This article starts from the French Revolution in 1848,discusses the implementation process of universal suffrage activities in this period, analyzes the impact of universal suffrage activities on France at that time and the causes of failure, and finally summarizes the impact of universal suffrage activities on modern European politics in the 1848 French Revolution.
