In the context of China's great mediation,it has become a trend to encourage and promote the mediation of civil disputes.In China's ethnic minority areas,folk mediation has also taken on a new look.The Yi people mainly live in Liangshan Prefecture,Sichuan Province.In the process of historical development,a relatively mature customary law has been formed,and a "de Gu" mediation system applicable to the ethnic group has been developed.This system has formed its own mature system so far,and conforms to the requirements of the development of the rule of law,forming a new mediation mode different from the traditional mediation system,which also plays an irreplaceable role in the place where the Yi people gather at present.This paper attempts to study and understand the traditional "de Gu" mediation system through questionnaire survey,case analysis and other methods.First,it introduces the "de Gu" mediation system in terms of the overview of the traditional "de Gu" mediation system,the historical role and modern role of the "de Gu" mediation system.Second,it analyzes the current "de Gu" mediation system from the aspects of participants,procedures and characteristics.Analysis of the advantages and disadvantages.Finally,the paper analyzes the problems existing in the mediation system of "de Gu" of Yi nationality from the perspective of civil litigation,and tries to give corresponding improvement suggestions.The author hopes that through this paper,the traditional "de Gu" mediation of Yi people can make more contributions to the settlement of social disputes in the context of the new era of great mediation,and help the development of the judicial system in China.
