Vocabulary learning is an essential component of second language learning,and it is of great importance for Chinese teacher to equip their students with effective vocabulary-learning strategies.Chinese teachers need to understand Thailand students' current vocabulary-learning strategies,which will help teachers organize vocabulary teaching.This research contains of three aspects:on one hand,this study investigates 185 middle school students in Kalasin in Thailand,and its purpose is to reveal the current condition of vocabulary learning strategies of students.Meanwhile,this study analyzes and accounts data and questionnaire's scores by SPSS statistic software.This thesis contains four vocabulary-learning strategies,including metacognitive strategy,cognitive strategy,memory strategy and social and affective strategy.Compared with the existing theses or books,the conclusions in this thesis present social and affective strategy is the most popular method,and then is metacognitive strategy,the third is cognitive strategy,and the last is memory strategy.On the other hand,this research describes the reasons affecting vocabulary-learning strategies from inside and outside factors.The inside factors include gender factor,age factor and learning-level factor.The difference between two genders is on the usage of memory strategy.In addition,students in different ages have diverse tendency in social and affective strategy.At last,the high learning-level group use metacognitive strategy more fluently,and the low learning-level group tend to exploit cognitive strategy.The outside factors contain school element,teacher element and peer element.By data analysis,the above factors have some important effects on vocabulary-learning strategies.The three schools differ in using cognitive strategy and metacognitive strategy.From the points of students,humor is the most important-element of a teacher.Meanwhile,students in Thailand have a tendency in peer communication.At last,according to the investigating results,this study provides some reference data and teaching methods for Chinese teachers in Thailand.The aims is to letting students can use efficient strategies to learn Chinese and doing some researches in Thailand Chinese Teaching.
