The educational theories such as Rousseau's "moral education should return to children's natural life",Pestalozzi's "life is a great educator",Dewey's "education is life",Tao Xingzhi's "life is education ",are all emphasize that the life plays an important role in education or moral education.The essence of folk custom is a kind of combination of culture and life,so there exists a close relationship between the traditional folk custom and moral education.To study moral education from the perspective of traditional folk custom not only keeps paces with the social development,but also provides us one way to deal with the question that moral education now is separated from reality.This research is in response to the call of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,which states that “We will draw on China's fine traditional culture,keep alive and develop its vision,concepts,values,and moral norms,and do so in a way that responds to the call of our era.With this we will see that Chinese culture maintains its appeal and evolves with the times.” Based on the phenomena of moral decline and many difficulties concerning current moral education,premised on the understanding that the value of moral education exists in moral education,meanwhile,in the light of the theory that “the moral education originates from the life”,this paper will give detail expression of the traditional folk custom's nature,characteristics,structure,function,make a further analysis for the role that the traditional folk custom plays in the study of moral education,classify and summarize the moral education resources in the traditional folk custom,and extract its education value concisely.By means of different research methods,such as literature analysis,case analysis,this paper aims at enriching the content of moral education,optimizing the methods of moral education,broadening the methods of moral education and enhancing the timeliness of moral education.In addition to the systematical expression of the theory,this article takes "Henan Opera",a folk custom originating in Henan province,as the specific example to analyze the unique value of the traditional folk custom in moral education from four different perspectives: individual,family,school and society and at the same time puts forward some suggestions about how to optimize the effect of traditional folk custom in moral education.In a word,the study on the value of traditional folk custom in moral education,whether it is based on the perspective of putting moral education in practice or the perspective of developing fine traditional culture,has a great and deep significance in this period.Studying the value of traditional folklore in moral education can enrich traditional moral education resources,optimize and broaden the methods of moral education,and enhance the effectiveness of moral education.
