Constructing college moral education mechanism in the perspective of traditional festival culture is in practice to do research into college moral education based on traditional Chinese festival cultures. The introduction of traditional Chinese festival cultures into moral education mechanism research is an inevitable choice of moral education's returning to the living world, and construction of moral education mechanism fitting in with specific situations of the new age and students is an integral part of moral education research. Both traditional Chinese festival culture and moral education that have originated in real life and will regress to real life, which is the prerequisite and foundation for constructing college moral education mechanism in the perspective of t raditional festival culture.By analysis of such traditional Chinese festival cultures as lively finery culture, unique food culture, ritual and ceremonial etiquette culture, simple and natural values, various aesthetic sentiments as well as solemn and serene religious rites, the moral education values contained in traditional festivals are unearthed, including waves of patriotism, values of harmony, reverence and treasure of life, and advocate of human kinship.Examining college moral education in the view of traditional festivals, we can find out that there are problems in current moral education such as idealized value orientation, theorized educational contents and simplified teaching process, and that these problems are caused by insufficient awareness of moral education objectives, educational contents separated from real life and blocked moral education mechanism. The choice of college moral education mechanism in the perspective of traditional festivals proves necessary by the ample contents of national moral education, by the consensus reached on moral education's returning to real life, by the influences of western cultures on college students and by the moral values of traditional festivals; it also proves achievable by the cultural traits of traditional festivals, by the traditional festival cultures functioning as major carriers of moral education's returning to real life, and by the moral education objects'recognition of traditional festivals.The future development of moral education mechanism assumes a tendency towards a student-based value orientation. Moral education mechanism must mingle with and be chosen from traditional Chinese cultures. Traditional festival cultures have epitomized traditional cultures. An overall and concerted student-based moral education mechanism allows students to internalize traditional festival cultures into their moral qualities through instructors'edification and personal experience.Moral education mechanism must be based on traditional festival cultures since its contents are furnished by traditional Chinese festival cultures. Utmost efforts should be made to introduce traditional festival cultures into new mechanism of college moral education by means of coordinating organization, setting topics and carriers of activities, summarizing, adjusting and referencing tradition moral education mechanism of colleges and universities both at home and abroad.
