A hundred years account greatly,educating is originally.The progress of education is based on teachers.The teacher is the first resource of education,and good teachers are essential to good education.Similarly,without excellent teacher educators,there cannot be high-quality teacher education,no good teachers,and no high-quality basic education.With the deep reforming of teacher education,teacher educators,which are the core element of teacher education,have been gradually found since 1980s.As the spark plug in the improvement of teacher education,professionalism of teacher educators and their professional development cannot be ignored.Then,The United States,the Netherlands,Britain,Israel and other European and American developed countries have started to research and develop professional standards for teacher educators,in order to provide direction for teacher educators' own professional development,to play evaluation functions and to enhance teacher educators' professional accomplishment.However,when throughout our country,we find that the study of teacher educators is far less than other aspects of teacher education,which varies inversely to their values to teacher education.Therefore,the study aims to research the Standards for Teacher Educators of America,on which combines with the investigation of teacher educators in China,discussing some suggestions are drawn from the Standards for Teacher Educators on specialization of teacher educators in our country and providing resources of professional development of teacher educators.The methods.used in this research contained literature review,comparative studies,and questionnaire.The study focuses mainly on the American Standards for Teacher Educators,including five aspects.First of all,from international need of improving teacher qualities,American civil teacher education reforms,and internal demands of specialization of teacher educators to reveal the background of the Standards for Teacher educators,and give a brief introduction to the research and adjustment process of it.Then,take revised edition of 2008 for example,respectively from the teacher educator's professionalism,professional development and social service dimensions to show the main content,and reveal the characteristics of it.What's more,on the basis of further exploration in details of the implementation of the standard,revealing the influence on the development of teacher educators on individual and group levels.Finally,by analyzing the present situation of teacher educators in our country,finding the problems,and in light of the existing problems,and the experience of American Standard for Teacher Educators' formulation and implementation to put forward some corresponding measures,which includes pay attention to teacher educators and do more research on them,group stakeholder together to research and development of professional standards for teacher educators,Explore implement ways of standards and establish the system of professional development,build professional communities,and revise the standard in practice.
