Field Research On The Functions Of Middle-level School Administrators

Middle-level managers play a very important role in modern organizations,both in enterprises and institutions as well as in departments and units.Functions of middle-level managers are the key to business operations and day-to-day management.In a word,middle-level managers are the backbone of an organization.At school,middle-level managers are the direct leaders of the teachers,are the connecting link for teachers and principals,so their functions and behaviors focus on conveying the philosophy and purpose of the school,so the functions of middle-level managers are the worthy management issue.In this paper,taking middle-level managers of L primary school as the research object,used field research approach to describe the functions of the real world of middle-level managers in the form of narration with comments.Through the studying of the functions of middle-level managers in a way of field research,studying current situation of the functions of school middle-level managers to making a reasonable reference and judgement in promoting school management.The paper includes five parts.The first part comes into the introduction,introduced the study of the origin and the research meaning.School management theory,theory of function on manager and relevant theory on school middle-level managers,then,account of research ideas,research approach and reasons of selecting L primary school.Second part states on L primary school generally,mainly from organization structure of middle-level managers from teaching affairs office,moral education office and logistics office,through three directors interview,observation and research of three departments in order to get an overall understanding of functions of middle-level managers of L primary school.The third part is deeply involving in the functions of middle-level manager of L primary school,including teaching affairs office,moral education office and logistics office.Try to find the existing problems and theory analysis of the functions of middle-level managers in the form of narration with comments.The fourth part analyze the functions of middle-level managers from aspect of school leaders’ level and teachers’ level,at the same time,selecting parts ideas on middle-level managers themselves and stating the standpoint of the author.The last part reflects the present situation of functions of middle-level managers of L primary school,try to propose the better ways of performing functions of middle-level managers to reinforce and improve the functions of middle-level managers.It includes regulating the construction of middle-level managers,standardizing principals’leadership functions.
