With the rapid development of science and technology and its infiltration in human social life,science education has become an important course in the basic education stage in various countries.People have generally recognized that students have a basic understanding of the concepts and processes of science when they complete compulsory education.However,many tests and research findings have found that students are not interested in the study of science and that the science taught in schools has nothing to do with them.To solve this contradiction reality,countries have attached particular importance to primary science curriculum standards revision,curriculum standards and expectations in guiding the preparation of teaching materials,classroom teaching,learning achievement assessment and teachers'professional development to play a role.This study chose the latest primary school science curriculum standards in the United States,United Kingdom,Singapore,and China to compare and analyze,and specifically explored curriculum idea,curriculum objectives,content standards,teaching suggestions,and evaluation suggestions to explore current primary schools in these countries.The overall trend and individual characteristics of the scientific curriculum reform will further promote the consideration of Primary Science Curriculum Standards of China(2017 version).Through comparison and analysis,it is found that curriculum ideas in the four countries pay more and more attention to scientific inquiry and lifelong development,and more attention to the shaping of scientific attitudes and values.The United States also emphasizes the integration within the disciplines compared to other countries.The curriculum objectives of each country further reflect the importance of science inquiry and pay more attention to learning progression,the United Kingdom puts special emphasis on the mastery of scientific terminology for students.Curriculum content shows a certain horizontal,vertical integration trend,the United States and Singapore pay more attention to the teaching of disciplinary core ideas,Singapore and the United Kingdom are more emphasis on teaching autonomy;all countries pay more attention to inquiry-based teaching in teaching suggestions,and the United Kingdom has also put forward the teaching ideology of Assessment for Learning.Finally,allcountries are committed to the development of more explicit teaching evaluation criteria,and the evaluation methods show a diversification of evaluation methods.Based on the above comparison and analysis,it is found that Primary Science Curriculum Standards of China(2017 version)also needs to pay more attention to the following aspects:The curriculum ideas should focus on students' understanding of the nature of science;the curriculum objectives should focus on the use and mastery of student scientific terminology.Content standards should focus on feedback in the implementation of new curriculum standards,optimize learning progression design,and strengthen the horizontal integration of science course;in teaching advice more attention should be paid to teaching autonomy,leaving more room for teachers'teaching.In terms of evaluation advice,the consistency between teaching content and evaluation criteria should be emphasized,and the overall development of students should also be concerned.Finally,in the text organization of curriculum standards,graphic and textual expressions can be applied to help readers better grasp the ideas and concepts of curriculum standards.
