The students'understanding on the profession of engineer depends to a great extent on their understanding of the project during their youth.Understanding the image of engineers in the minds of elementary and senior school students is conducive to exploring their views on the profession of engineer and reducing their stereotyped impressions of engineer.Through the methods of literature,questionnaire and interview,the author investigated the image of engineer in the middle and senior grades of primary school students.First of all,on the basis of literature research,as well as interviews with front-line teachers and students,the factors of engineers' images are divided,and obtained formal questionnaires after preliminary prediction,I was compiled a questionnaire.A total of 400 primary school students aged 9-13 and 3-6 were selected as the research subjects to conducte the questionnaire survey.The collected data were analyzed by frequency analysis,variance analysis and T test with the help of SPSS21.0.The results are as follows:First,prepare the questionnaire of engineers' image in the middle and senior grades of primary school students.The questionnaire includes the basic information of the sample and the five dimensions of the engineer's image(external image,personality image,survival image,professional ability and professional activity).Second,to understand the status of engineers in primary and middle school students.Overall,the student evaluation on the engineer was high,and the student evaluation on the image of the personality was higher,but it also causes the student to engineer the phenomenon at a distance.As for the external image of engineers,the students' understanding of engineer is somewhat stereotyped.For the survival image of engineer,students believe that engineers have a high social status,but they have a long working time and great pressure,and students are in a contradictory mentality.The survey also found that students were not interested in the profession of engineers in the future engaged,so the image of engineers in the primary and secondary school students mind need to be promoted.There are significant differences in gender and authority of engineer between primary and secondary school students of different genders.Students of different grades tend to increase their scores,among them,grade four is a turning point,especially in the willingness of engineer,and students will be willing to decline as the grade increases.Third,the corresponding engineer image shaping strategy is forward.First of all,the school should strengthen the shaping of the image of the engineer to change the stereotype of the students for engineers in teaching materials,and carry out engineering activities to reduce the distance between students and engineers,and then teachers should be increased for the collection and display of engineers in the teaching material;Secondly,the family should pay attention to students' practical ability;Finally,the society should be strengthen correct propaganda of the engineer image.
