The value of mixed-age education for children development is gradually being recognized,and many kindergartens have tried to explore and practice mixed-age education.Teachers' supporting strategies are important in mixed-age education.This study mainly takes teachers'supports in the area activities of art in mixed-age classes as the starting point,selects three mixed-age classes in Nanjing S kindergarten as the object of study.Through observation and interviews,specific supporting strategies in the area activities of art in mixed-age classes are analyzed and then researcher investigates the concept of teacher' support,and from the two aspects of external and internal factors analyzes mixed-age classes teachers' support strategy in the area activities of art,and puts forward the corresponding educational suggestions.The study finds that for the material input,the hierarchy of material is obvious but its active exploration is insufficient;The form where teachers carry out mixed-age area activities of art is the same age group activities and free scattered activities;for the specific guiding timing,there are most of no or insufficient observation supports,and less in-depth observation support or support at the right time;for the way of support,there are mainly request,physical demonstration and instruction about different-age children working in a cooperative way;for the content of support,teaching skills and training learning quality are regarded both as equal importance.In the mixed-age education background,teachers also pay more attention to children social contact.For the factor of affecting the mixed-age area activities,in the external aspect,it is mainly about the limitation of the course structure and the matter of parents;in the internal aspect,it is mainly about teachers' supporting awareness and ability,and out of those researcher has summed up three types of teachers' support in the mixed-age area activities of art.Finally,the corresponding educational suggestions are put forward.
