With the development of information era and the transformation of information technology,the carrier of knowledge and the way of knowledge dissemination are also changed.Learning resources are developed from mainly single text mode to multiple mode,which puts forward higher requirements for learners’ literacy.Pinyin is the basic tool for Chinese learning.It plays a decisive role in the mastery of language.Cultivating learners’ multiliteracies in Pinyin teaching is the key problem that should be solved at present.This study clarified the concept of "literacy" and "multiliteracies" based on relevant literature about multiliteracies at home and abroad.Guided by theories such as social semiotics,social culture and cognitive psychology,this paper apply multiliteracies pedagogy which put forward by the New London Group to Pinyin teaching in primary school.Taking design as idea,multiliteracies pedagogy is composed of situated practice,overt instruction,critical framing and transformed practice.According to the psychological characteristics of the learners,the main goal of this study is to train learners to understand multimodal resources.This study put forward two hypotheses: first,application of multiliteracies pedagogy can enhance learners’ understanding of multi-modal resources;second,applying this teaching mode can improve learners’ learning level of Pinyin knowledge.This study takes two parallel classes of grade one in R primary school in Q city as experimental subjects,the methods of pretest,posttest,process evaluation and interview are adopted.Analyzing of data by SPSS22.0,two conclusions are drawn.First,learners’ multiliteracies has been significantly enhanced.Second,learners’ performance in pinyin knowledge can improved by adopting multiliteracies pedagogy.Finally,the author summarizes the whole teaching practice process.Four principles of multiliteracies training in basic education stage and relevant suggestions for teachers are put forward.This study providing theoretical and practical reference for front-line teachers to improve Pinyin teaching mode and cultivate students’ multiliteracies.
