Parenting education is also called parental education,which is carried out for parents,and it aims to change their parental education idea or enhance the ability of educating children.Parents are the first teachers of children,parents' ideas,attitudes and behaviors affect children's lifelong development.It can even be said that the education ratio of parents to children is more important than the education of school and society.With the growth of the living standard,the parents are increasingly concerned about their children's education.However,many parents unclear their own responsibilities,roles and do not have a high level of understanding about children's physical and mental development law.besides,they lack of effective parent-child communication skills.Therefore,they feel great pressure on educating their children.Children's social work is a professional social work service that helps children grow up healthily,and it also pays attention to the needs of children's parents at education.This paper mainly adopts the method of case study,and research on the application of group work in parental education for children's parents.Firstly,The author select the parents in X kindergarten of Chengdu district street office as the research object,through the form of questionnaire to understand the present situation of the parental education,and recruited eight parents in X kindergarten to assess their needs on the parental education.Subsequently,based on social learning theory and cognitive development theory,the author designed and implemented the education promotion group for children's parents.Then,based on the implementation process and the results of group work in parental education,the author summarized and reflected the application of group work in parental education.In this study,we found that the parents were confused about the connotation of the parental education,the role of parents and the ambiguity of their responsibilities.In addition,the parents lack of resources and channels about parental education.this require the development of children's parents in parenting ability.parental education should cover the law of children's mental and physical development,then,based on that,design related service content for parents.The parental education learning process can be divided into four processes.Firstly,paying attention to parental demonstration behavior learning.secondly,building a pro-active demonstration behavior memory.Then,reconstructing the demonstration behavior.at last,strengthening the four processes of demonstration behavioral motivation.Social workers play the role of organizer,educator,recorder,evaluator and so on in the group work in parental education.The group work method can change the concept of parental education and enhance the parental education capacity of parents effectivel,and expand the social network of children's parents.In this study,the parents of children in the nuclear family were limited to education,which ignored the influence of family structure.In practice,It also ask for social workers to have a certain understanding of the pro-vocational education.Later,the researcher can study and intervene from different family structures in parental education.
