Chinese students in the third grade of junior middle schools are under great pressure.Teachers and parents,including students themselves,pay increasing attention to academic performance which are directly related to the students 'choices for their future learning career.Mathematics,as one of the most important subjects in junior high schools,is the focus for both teachers and students,thought it is more and more complex than before.Students need to make a good integration of their knowledge learned in the first and second grades.This means additional difficulty in learning.As a result,some students ' performance is not very satisfactory.Study shows that the correct use of learning strategies can improve learners ' efficiency,competence and comprehensive quality,and hence reduce their burden.Learning strategy is the standard to measure students' learning ability,especially self-study.Therefore.it has attracted more and more people's attention.As the matter of fact,the western scholars have made great achievements in the study of learning strategies.Although a little bit late,the domestic scholars have also achieved some results.At present,the study of learning strategies for specific disciplines is less than that of general learning strategies,and the research methods need to be enriched and improved.This paper focuses on the following three questions:(1)Is there any significant difference in the application level of mathematics learning strategy in the three dimensions of "mathematical cognitive strategy","mathematical meta-cognitive strategy" and "mathematical resource management strategy"?(2)Are there any significant differences in the use of mathematics learning strategies among students at the three levels of "good,medium and poor" in the third grade?(3)How to train and improve students 'learning strategies according to the current situation of application of mathematics learning strategies in junior high school students?The research methods used in this paper are:literature analysis,questionnaire survey,interview survey,from the Yancheng Junior High School,Yancheng Wenfeng Middle School,Yancheng Yanfu Middle School in the third grade of 350 students.Through the investigation,it is found that the application level of mathematics learning strategy in junior high school students is significantly different.Most of the students have less learning strategies,and the application level of learning strategies is low or improper.The level of students 'learning strategy has a direct impact on their learning performance.The basic reason for the low mathematics learning strategy of students is that in the long-term education and teaching process,schools and teachers do not pay enough attention to the student learning process and the cultivation of students' learning strategies.This paper analyzes how to improve the learning strategies from two aspects:students and teachers.Teachers:(1)update education concepts,improve teaching methods;(2)strengthen academic guidance,cultivate learning strategies;and(3)pay attention to four-dimensional goals and cultivate comprehensive quality.Students:(1)clarify the purpose of learning,improve learning behavior;(2)accumulate learning strategies,optimize the learning process;and(3)diversify the learning methods and improve comprehensive literacy.
