With the continuous development of China’s education reform,China’s mathematics education is moving towards the world.Some previous conclusions on the study of mathematics classroom teaching in China are outdated and need to be updated.Analyzing the current research situation of this subject,it is found that scholars at home and abroad have made a full study of mathematics classroom teaching in China and the United States,but most of them adopt the method of video case analysis,few of them really enter the classroom to observe on the spot,lack of in-depth research from the perspective of theoretical and practical investigation,and need us to conduct further research on the comparative study of classroom teaching behavior and nature.Relying on the educational research projects in the United States,the author entered the mathematics classroom of LCHS Middle School in the United States and accumulated a large number of first-hand materials.Based on the four dimensions of classroom nature,teacher teaching,student learning and classroom culture,this paper uses literature research,questionnaire survey,comparative analysis and case analysis to study four issues related to mathematics classroom teaching in middle schools in China and the United States:(1)What are the characteristics and differences of mathematics classroom teaching in middle schools in China and the United States at this stage?(2)What are the reasons for the differences in mathematics classroom teaching between China and the United States?(3):What are the implications of the comparative results of this study for mathematics classroom teaching in middle schools in China?(4)How effective are the implications of this study?The study finds that,influenced by different mathematical education concepts,curriculum standards,teaching materials,assessment system and educational resources between China and the United States,there are differences in the four aspects of classroom nature,teacher teaching,student learning,and classroom culture between China and the United States,but each has its own characteristics and deserves to be used for reference.The enlightenment to our country’s mathematics classroom is:(1)we should constantly improve the arrangement of mathematics learning activities;(2)we should pay more attention to inquiry understanding and improve students’ ability to analyze problems;(3)we should continue to pay attention to the training of teachers.Finally,based on the research results of this paper,the author chooses the content of the eighth grade polygon of Shanghai Educational Press,designs and implements the integrated curriculum in the form of mathematical experiment activity class,and verifies the validity of the conclusion.
