In the era of knowledge economy in the 21st century, knowledge is the foundation of economy.Education has become the core competitiveness of comprehensive national strength. Each country has paid more and more attention to education, and they have embarked on the road of curriculum reform and set off a new curriculum reform in the 21st century.wave.As the most important mathematics curriculum resource, mathematics textbooks are not only the most basic blueprint for students to study mathematics and teachers to teach mathematics, but also the carrier of curriculum reform. Therefore, mathematics textbooks influence the success or failure of a new round of mathematics curriculum reform to a great extent. As typical representatives of the East and the West,China and the United States have many differences in the overall framework, knowledge content, arrangement system, etc.due to differences in cultural backgrounds and educational concepts.Through the comparative study of Chinese and American junior high school mathematics textbooks,it can be used for education in China.Workers to provide reference and experience, help to provide an international perspective for the preparation of new textbooks in China, and promote the development of a new round of mathematics curriculum reform.Based on this, this article selects "compulsory education textbook mathematics"(Grade 7-9)published by the People's Education Press and the junior mathematics textbook Glencoe 'Math(course 1-3)published by Mc-Graw Hill Press as an object of study.Literature review methods, text analysis methods, comparative research methods, etc.,compared the two sets of textbooks from the macro level and the micro level. The macro level mainly involves the overall compilation of teaching materials, the schematic diagram of the chapter structure, and the overall arrangement and comparison of the three major knowledge contents of "numbers and algebras","graphics and geometry","statistics and probability",etc.;the microscopic level mainly involves the knowledge capacity of the three major knowledge contents.Comparison of the presentation level of the course content, and setting of exercise structure. In addition, the three classical styles of number and algebra, graphs and geometry, and statistics and probability are compared from the macroscopic and microscopic aspects to a comprehensive comparison of the classical styles in Chinese and American textbooks. The study found that there are many similarities and differences between the teaching materials of the People's Education Press and the Glencoe Math teaching materials, and they can learn from each other and draw lessons from each other. At the macro level:(1)The preparation of teaching materials for the People's Education Press is concise and reasonable, knowledge coverage is wide, and the preparation of Glencoe Math textbooks is meticulous and comprehensive, but the teaching materials are heavy;(2)Both editions of the textbooks focus on the connection between mathematics and real life, focusing on the application of mathematics and summarizing new knowledge;(3)The teaching materials of the People's Education Press pay attention to the combination of mathematics teaching and modern information technology, and pay attention to the review and reflection on the new knowledge learned;(4)The Glencoe Math textbook pays attention to the connection between old and new knowledge, and pays attention to The connection between mathematics and other disciplines;(5)Glencoe Math textbooks will be the corresponding curriculum standards into the book,so that the integration of mathematics teaching materials and mathematics curriculum standards. At the micro level:(1)From the comparison of knowledge capacity,we can see that textbooks in our country attach importance to algebra and geometry;American textbooks attach importance to probability statistics;(2)Both sets of textbooks focus on the concept introduction process and the theorem inquiry process, and exert students' subjective initiative;(3)The definition of concept is more rigorous and accurate by the People's Education Press, highlighting the key points of the concept and embodying the characteristics of mathematics rigor;(4)Teaching materials for the PEP emphasize the role of history of mathematics in student learning, focusing on the history of mathematics Integrate into mathematics teaching;(5)The Glencoe Math textbook is better than the teaching materials of the people's education textbooks for the preparation and design of the examples, and the professors pay attention to a variety of problem solving methods;(6)Glencoe Math textbooks attach great importance to the connectivity between the knowledge of junior high school. The preparation of teaching materials has added some basic knowledge of high school mathematics knowledge. On the basis of this research findings, the following suggestions are made for the preparation of mathematics textbooks for secondary school students:(1)Combine the curriculum standards into mathematics textbooks to achieve the integration of standards and content;(2)Add "pre-chapter testing" or " The "Knowledge Review"module enhances the connections between old and new knowledge;(3)Enhances the connection between mathematics and other disciplines;(4)Closely links with real life and focuses on the application of mathematics;(5)Arranging knowledge layouts and designing them carefully.Exploring activities and leaving room for independent thinking;(6)Perfecting the design of examples and enhancing the effectiveness of learning;(7)Strengthening the interface between the knowledge of junior middle school and high school, and laying a good foundation for high school students.
