The Value Evolution Of Participatory Images In Community Work Applications

Today in China,there are countless social working methods and social organizations serving the community,and there are only a handful of social organizations that use participatory imaging as a community work.Participatory images originated in the West as a new way to promote community participation and empowerment.They were introduced to China in the 1990 s.For more than 20 years,from the burgeoning to the opening of branches and leaves,progress has been considerable but not easy.As an intern,I joined the Shanghai A Community Imaging Agency as a project assistant and communications commissioner.I conducted a six-month participatory observation of the organization's operations,taking the agency as a prism and participating imagery in China.The latest developments are presented.Observed and found that the agency's mission is "image transmission of public welfare,image-assisted community",and the realization of the value of its participatory image is inevitably encountered in the process of practice,and the values have undergone subtle changes.The original intention of institutional workers is to involve community residents in the entire process of imaging projects,empowering residents and promoting community autonomy.However,under various constraints,residents' participation in all aspects of the project is gradually reduced,and participation.The concept of the value of imagery is also weakened.This paper analyzes the above process of value change and its causes through participatory observation and interview methods.The analysis found that the lack of project funds made it impossible for A organization to fully implement the participatory image concept in order to save costs;the place where the project falls,the street,interferes with the design and implementation of the participatory image project due to the consideration of its own image,resulting in participatory imagery.The value is distorted;in the project communication stage,influenced by the state authority,the A agency conducts a self-censorship before uploading the film to the network,and deletes the part that truly reflects the community problem,so as to reflect the community problem and affect the public.The value of participatory images of policy is weakened.
