Early science education plays a decisive role in the formation of a person's scientific literacy.The "Standard for Science Curriculum in Primary Schools of Full-time Compulsory Education" points out that the science curriculum in primary schools should cultivate the scientific literacy of primary school students according to the requirements of cultivating morality and cultivating people,and lay a good foundation for their continuous learning and lifelong development The 2017 edition of primary school science curriculum standard stipulates that primary school science is a basic course to cultivate students' scientific literacy.Experimental teaching,as an important part of primary school science curriculum teaching,helps to promote students' scientific knowledge formation,improve students' scientific inquiry ability,and cultivate students' scientific spirit and scientific attitude.In this paper,the primary schools in a certain area of Yangzhou city are selected as the object,and the investigation method and interview method are mainly adopted.Through the research on the laboratory construction,laboratory equipment,science teacher allocation,experiment teaching contents and plans,experiment teaching evaluation and other aspects in this area,the present situation of science experiment teaching in primary schools can be better understood.The investigation is based on the actual situation in the region,in-depth understanding of the specific situation and development trend of scientific experimental teaching in primary schools in the region,analysis of the advantages and existing problems of scientific experimental teaching in primary schools in the region at present,laying a foundation for curriculum reform in Yangzhou city,and opening up ideas for theoretical educators to carry out relevant research on scientific experimental teaching in primary schools in Yangzhou city.The research found that there are some problems in the science experimental teaching in primary schools in this area:insufficient experimental teaching resources,lack of balance and utilization;The experimental teaching contents and teaching plans are outdated and lack novelty and interest.The experimental teaching method is single and lacks innovation and integration.The evaluation of experimental teaching is simple and lacks diversity and effectiveness.The above problems are mainly caused by insufficient attention to scientific disciplines,school size and management constraints,fewer recruitment indicators for teachers,large differences in personal workload,and low professional level of teachers.In view of these problems,four suggestions are put forward:standardizing the management of function rooms and expanding experimental teaching resources;Strengthen the construction of teachers'team and improve teachers' professional quality;Innovating teaching contents and methods to improve the effectiveness of experimental teaching;Perfect the teaching evaluation system and improve the diversity of experimental teaching.
