During the period of the Republic of China,China was in a fierce confrontation between the old and the new cultures,and various educational forces emerged one after another,thus civic education was widely disseminated.During this period,civic education focused on civic training,and carried out a reform campaign on ideology and action for the general public.Therefore,citizen training is the main practice of citizen education in the Republic of China.Then,what kind of training content,how to implement it and what kind of thinking it will bring to the development of modern civic education are the core issues of this study.The Citizen Training in the Republic of China developed from the discipline of self-cultivation in schools and was fully embodied in the discipline of citizen.And with the popularization of civic awareness,civic training has gradually from the school to the community,as a tool to improve the community.Through the analysis of the curriculum standards,textbooks and other text materials of school citizenship training,we can find that the school citizenship training in the Republic of China combined with the inherent traditional virtues of the Chinese nation,with the goal of cultivating sound citizens physical,moral,economic and political training for children.The teaching content is closed to children's life,gradually in-depth,from the formation of individual behavior habits to the cultivation of public awareness,involving the individual,family,society,international affairs.The school has diversified training methods,combines public training with individual training,and is good at using external environment to carry out citizen training.In the examination and evaluation of children,school citizenship training pays attention to self-examination,combines teacher evaluation with student self-evaluation,and formulates a set of standardized examination methods.In carrying out citizen training,the society takes the broad masses of the society as its training object.The purpose is to change the bad living habits in the past,to strengthen the national consciousness and the national idea,to strengthen the public participation in public affairs,and to assume the responsibilities and obligations as citizens.Through social service organizations,the public is organized to carry out public activities and increase the public's enthusiasm for participating in public services;through the new life campaign,regular life is promoted and the unhealthy lifestyle of the public is improved;in addition,use newspapers,magazines,books,radio,movies and other social resources to disseminate civic knowledge and promote national patriotism.Through the study of citizen training in the period of the Republic of China,we can provide some historical experience for the development of modern citizen education in China.Nowadays,the development of civic education should not only attach importance to the support of social forces,but also actively connect with other forms of education to jointly promote the development of modern civic education.
