Student identity refers to the individual recognition of students and the external others associated with them. The recognition of students should be recognized by the rejection and recognition of certain value principles.Student identity is inextricably linked to educational purposes. The student identity answers the question of what kind of person the student should be.The purpose of the education involves the macro standard of what kind of person to cultivate, and implies the microscopic view and attitude towards the student identity. It can be said that the purpose of education is the premise and foundation of student identity, and student identity is the embodiment of educational purpose.Student identity is deeply influenced by the value orientation of educational purposes, especially influenced by the two value orientations of utilitarianism and elitism. The French scholar Jean Francois Lyotard was one of the most important founders of western postmodern theory. He rethought the western ideological tradition and named his thoughts as "postmodern".Lyotard's postmodern philosophical thinking expresses strong doubts about the "grand narrative" of the foundation of modernism, opposes fundamentalism and essentialism in epistemology, and advocates heterogeneous and pluralistic rules of language games. It provides people with an ideological system different from traditional thinking, reminding people to attach great importance to the long-shadowed differences and their methodological significance due to the proliferation of modern rationality,in order to avoid the irrational application of universal values and standards.Using this thinking to examine student identity,it is not difficult to find that the educational purpose based on student identity is a"grand narrative" with a centralism, and its value orientation also reflects the "grand narrative"characteristics.Under the influence of two "grand narratives" of utilitarian value orientation and elitist value orientation, student identity reflects the characteristics of "utilitarian-tool person" and"elite-complete".From the perspective of the external other, the specific performance: at the national level, the students are the builders and successors of the country's comprehensive development in the future;at the school level, the students are the service providers for the comprehensive development of the future society;at the teacher level, the students are all-round development students;at the parental level, students are the hopes of the entire family and the changers of class promotion. From the perspective of students' self-esteem,it mainly reflects: in the relationship between student self and school, the students are the spokespersons of the school;in the relationship between the students and the teachers, the students are the obedients of theteachers' authority;in the relationship between the students and the parents, students are substitutes for parents and future hopers;among student self and peer groups, students are label students of "good students" or "poor students".It can be seen that the state, the school, the society, the parents and even the students themselves are based on the same standard when they identify with the students. This standard is the elite. And the fundamental reason for chasing is the materialization of "people" in school education caused by the "grand narrative" of modernism, such as essentialism, basicism and rationalism.Using Lyotard's postmodern philosophical thinking to analyze student identity, student identity has the following problems: the value orientation of student identity is too much to pursue the "elite-utilitarian";the specific connotation reflects the "single-one-sided";and the reference standard shows a "fixed-unified".According to Lyotard's post-modern philosophical thinking,it is necessary to reconstruct the modernity of student identity based on "grand narrative",mainly from the following aspects: the reconstruction of student identity should promote the pluralism and negotiation of value orientation;the reconstruction of student identity should highlight the richness and complexity of concrete connotation;the reconstruction of student identity should highlight the dynamic and heterogeneity of reference standards.
