In the description of the mass media, fans are often labelled as "emotional",and their image is usually an irrational, fanatical group prone to deviant behaviors. The fanaticism of fans is not exclusive to a certain generation. In different eras, the evolution of fan communities and the changes in fan emotional expression, with the help of different media carriers, present the carnival of fan groups between different generations. This research takes the spectacle/performance theory as the theoretical perspective, and takes the Mayday "elder fans" as the research object.Through 313 questionnaire survey samples and two fan We Chat communities, the network ethnography method and grounded theory and other research methods, the influencing factors of individual fan self-identity are discussed in depth, and an attempt is made to construct the formation path of fan community identity. This research is divided into five parts:chapter one is the introduction, which mainly explains research issues, research methods, research ideas and illustrates the concepts and theories of fan fascination,spectacle/performance theory, affective labor, collective identity, etc.;chapter two introduces the development and evolution of fan culture from the perspective of spectacle/performance theory, and discusses the development process of idol fan culture in China and the applicability of selected theories;chapter three is based on the theory of spectacle/performance and the influencing factors of fan self-identity clarify the relationship between variables by constructing and testing theoretical models;chapter four is based on grounded theory to study the path construction of fan collective identity, through text analysis, grounded coding analysis and other methods, combined with online ethnographic survey to explain the formation path of the collective identity of fans;the last chapter mainly summarizes and discusses the research hypothesis results of this article, and proposes management enlightenment for virtual network governance. The research results show that the diffused audiences have a significant positive impact on the path of individual fans' narcissistic personality, and media literacy plays a significant role in this path.Secondly, the individual fans' narcissistic personality also plays a positive significant role in fan self-identity.Self-presentation plays a part of mediating role in this action.Role identity, affective labor, and relationship construction are the main links in the formation of "elder fans" from self-identity to collective identity, and "affective labor" is the leading factor in this link. This research examines the performance of the fan community's identity in the new media environment from the perspective of spectacle/performance theory, and attempts to combine the theory with affective labor, enriching the localization of the theory in China;at the same time, the research is about the description of the practice of fan self-identity and collective identity, which helps to provide management enlightenment for the behavioral norms of the fan group, and provides reference for creating an advance network communication environment.
