Language environment is an important factor affecting children's language development.Vocabulary is the basis of language.Then,how is the relationship between language environment and vocabulary development?Through the existing literature,it is found that the previous studies are usually from one or several factors of the language environment to explore the relationship between vocabulary,different definitions and measures of language environment lead to different conclusions.According to the linguistic perspective,this study divides the language environment into two dimensions:language experience and literacy experience.The dimension of language experience is divided into the amount of language contacts and used and the quality of language contact and use.The dimension of literacy experience is divided into literacy activities and literacy materials.Literacy activities are divided into four factors:reading and storytelling,parent-child dialogue,singing and library activities.Literacy materials are divided into two factors:books and electronic media.This study selection of 233 3-6 years old children as subjects.Through Language Environment Questionnaire and Chinese Children's Picture Vocabulary Test tools survey participants young children's language environment and vocabulary proficiency,using the Pearson correlation analysis,one-way ANOVA,regression analysis and path analysis method,to explore the influence of language environment and various factors on the vocabulary proficiency of children aged 3-6 years.The conclusions are as follows:(1)Language environment has a significant effect on children's vocabulary proficiency in general,and the effect degree gradually decreases with the growth of children's age;(2)The three factors of the amount of language contacts and used,reading and storytelling,books have a significant effect on children's vocabulary proficiency at different ages,among which,the amount of language contacts and used has the greatest impact;(3)Electronic media has a negative indirect effect on children's vocabulary proficiency;(4)The quality of language contact and use,parent-child dialogue,library and singing activities have indirect positive effects on children's vocabulary proficiency.According to the research conclusions,the researchers put forward the following educational Suggestions to improve children's vocabulary proficiency:(1)Providing the language environment of Putonghua and improving the language quality;(2)Enriching children's literacy activities,especially reading and storytelling activities;(3)Providing abundant literacy materials to reduce the use of electronic media.
