Nowadays,science and technology play an essential role in industrial construction,social development and human progress,which is considered as the most productive factor.Meanwhile,the innovation and development of scientific technology provide an in-depth understanding of human beings and the possibility of natural transformation.As a carrier of scientific knowledge,science textbooks are vital for the delivery of human culture and promote active student development.Currently,although the textbook compilation has formed a mature system in China,it can be improved in details.Therefore,learning leading scientific textbook from overseas is an effective way to enhance our science textbooks.We constructed the framework of textbook analysis according to the selection of content,organization and its presentation.Here,we emphasized comparing science material between the latest elementary book Science Dimensions in the United States and Qingdao primary school textbook.Also,the investigation and interviews were utilized to explore the knowledge of science teachers and situation of textbook application in Chinses first-tier primary school.Finally,we made suggestions for the new textbook edition and science teachers by combined the conclusions of Science Dimensions analysis and practical research.This thesis consists of seven parts,as follows:Part 1 includes the introduction,the purpose,significance of investigation of scientific textbook writing,content,methodology,the framework of the study and construction of textbook analysis model.Specifically,the understandings of trends in the international science curriculum reforms,the evolutions of Chinese and American science curriculum standards,an analysis of current Chinese and American science textbooks,and an analysis of the material science content in current Chinses and American science textbooks by literature review,provides research background and idea of writing thesis.Part 2 analyzes and compares the editing conception of Chinese and American science textbooks in primary school,the choice of content in teaching material and its organization.Part 3,4 and 5 are the research theme,which compared and analyzed the selection of material,textbook organization and presentation between China and the United States deeply.Part 6 probes into the understanding and use of the current science textbooks by Chinese science teacher generally.Inspiration and prospects in the part 7.
