Critical incidents have important influence on teacher professional development.On the basis of previous studies,this paper reviews the relevant study on critical incidents and teacher professional development.Through the investigation and analysis of 499 rural primary school teachers in Jimo district,this paper discusses the critical incidents in teacher professional development and puts forward relevant strategies.The survey has found that research-based teaching,teaching competitions and the master-prentice mode are the top three critical incidents in the professional development of rural primary school teachers.These three critical incidents have great influence on teachers' professional development.Teachers are more likely to choose the events related to teaching activities that they often participate in as the critical incidents in their professional development.Through in-depth interviews,this paper discusses the influence of research-based teaching,teaching competitions,the master-prentice mode,nurturing incidents,the pre-work training and remote network training on the professional development of rural primary school teachers.Research-based teaching,which realized the resource sharing,is an effective way to promote the professional development of teachers.Teachers,who participate in the teaching competitions,can realize its value only by setting up the consciousness of treating teaching competitions correctly.The master-prentice mode is an important measure to promote the growth of new teachers,and relevant departments need to strengthen supervision and guidance from the school level and individual level,so as to give full play to the role of the master-prentice mode.It is found that the influence of nurturing incidents can be either positive or negative.Compared with the pre-work training in 2017,the new type of the pre-work training in 2018 is more popular among the new post teachers and has a more profound impact on them.Remote network training has not achieved the desired results,and its organizational style and training content still need to be improved.Finally,focusing on the theme of critical incidents,this paper puts forward relevant strategies for the professional development of rural primary school teachers from four aspects: establishing correct concepts,enhance the influence of significant others,strengthening the construction of rules and regulations and establishing flexible and diverse training mechanisms.
