Education is the essence of people's livelihood and lies a foundation for powerful country,while,Ideological and political education is the basis of education.Since the Eighteenth National Congress,the Party and the state have put forward the fundamental task of education,the importance of Ideological and political education is self-evident.In September 2018,at the National Education Congress,General Secretary Xi stressed once again that schools should carry out ideological and political work around the fundamental issue of "who to train,how to train and for whom to train".Over the past decades,the ideological and political education in China has been continuously developing and improving in the practice of reform,and a large number of theoretical research and practical results with Chinese characteristics have been achieved.However,it is undeniable that there are still some shortcomings in the ideological and political education in China.The prominent problem is the tendency to preach in theory and neglect the role of practice in cultivating people.This phenomenon is particularly prominent in middle schools which need to cope with the pressure of "high school entrance examination" and "college entrance examination".Ideological and political education is an organic whole including knowledge,emotion,will,faith and action.At the middle school stage,students are in the "jointing and booting stage" of life.The "three outlooks" have not yet been fully formed.They are more vulnerable to the negative impact of profound social changes.It is impossible to satisfy the needs of Ideological and political education and students' all-round development by relying solely on traditional theoretical inculcation.Therefore,ideological and political educators in middle schools must recognize the current situation and try to reflect about how to combine practical education with theoretical education so as to better achieve the goal of educating people.In view of this,this paper takes Wanzhou District in Chongqing as an example to analyze the current situation and problems of Ideological and political education practice in secondary schools by questionnaires and interviews,and finally puts forward the optimization path.This paper consists of four chapters.The first chapter introduces the background and significance of this study.This paper reviews the related research on Ideological and political education practice and education at home and abroad.The main contents and methods of this paper are put forward.In the second chapter,the connotation and characteristics of Ideological and political education in middle schools are summarized,which also discusses the theoretical basis and practical significance of the practice of Ideological and political education in middle schools,laying the theoretical foundation of the full text.The third chapter,taking Wanzhou District of Chongqing as an example,investigates and analyses the achievements of Ideological and political education in middle schools,including the management mechanism of practice education has been initially established,the activities of practice education have been carried out in an orderly manner,and the comprehensive ability and quality of students have been improved to a certain extent.The existing problems include the facts that the number of practice education activities is insufficient,the coverage is not wide,the innovation is insufficient,the enthusiasm of the principle part is not at peak,and the guarantee and assessment mechanism is not perfect.On this basis,the reasons are mainly as follows: The importance of practice education has not been fully recognized,the principle part of practice education lacks energy and ability,and the joint force of practice education has not yet formed.Chapter IV,on the basis of investigation and analysis,puts forward five optimization paths of Ideological and politice education in middle schools.Strengthen the concept of practice education,enhance the construction of teaching staff,broaden the ways of practice education,improve the mechanism of practice education,and build a community of practice education.
