Research On The Local Elements Of Urban Community Safety And Residents’ Perception

Urban community safety is the basic requirement of urban residents’ daily living space,and the study of safe space is also the focus of the research on human-land relationship and social living space quality.Under the new social and cultural background,the research on safe space is also confronted with new pressures and challenges.The safety of residential space not only including the safety of material space and the sense of security and satisfaction brought by the improvement of infrastructure,but also include the psychological safety of people living in space and the pursuit of quality of life.This paper focuses on the subjective perception of people and the locality of social practice.By exploring the local elements of community(material and emotional elements)and the security needs of the community subjects,it will promote the integration of Human Geography with other disciplines(sociology,management,architecture),broaden the research perspective of urban community security,and improve the city(society).)Quality of life space.This paper chooses mixed-methods approach(qualitative and quantitative),which were used to explore the local elements of urban community safety and residents’ perception of safety.Firstly,the definition of basic concepts,the summary and combing of current research situations,the collation and application of relevant theories,clarify the research ideas of the local elements in urban community safety and residents’ perception;secondly,based on relevant theories and research needs,design questionnaires and interview outlines,through mathematical statistics analysis,descriptive analysis and correlation of the data obtained.Through factor analysis,conclude the local elements of urban community security.Then,through the analysis of demonstration and interview text,the influence mechanism between urban community security and local elements is analyzed.Finally,community managers(managers/residents)are advocated as the main body of the community,and local material and emotional elements are taken as the starting point.Through the improvement and maintenance of the material elements of the community andthe concern and attention to the emotional elements of the community,we can reduce or eliminate the unsafe incidents in the community,construct a place with emotion,significance and security,and build a safe community concerned about the quality of people and living space.The main conclusions of this study are as follows:Local elements of urban community security are divided into material elements(community entities and infrastructure),emotional elements(community emotions and community culture)and community managers(managers/residents);there is a significant positive correlation between urban community safety,and the local explanations for community safety are close to 40%;there are 11 main factors affecting urban community safety,including community managers,community identity,community emotion,basic service facilities,natural environment,residential density,community activities,distance between relatives and friends,neighborhood atmosphere,community security and community area;the function mechanism of local factors on urban community security is mainly from three aspects: first,the material elements-the basis of community security;secondly,the emotional elements-the link of community security;finally,the managers-the guarantee of community security.
