Academic self-concept and academic adaptation have become hot issues in educational and psychological circles, with special emphasis on the relationship between the two and academic performance. At present, studies on academic self-concept,academic adaptation and academic achievement at home and abroad mostly focus on primary and secondary school students. However, due to the heterogeneity of research paradigm and research objects, whether the research conclusions drawn from primary and secondary school students can be extended to the special group of ethnic preparatory students remains to be further tested and verified. It is an important measure to deepen and push forward the reform of ethnic preparatory education to run the ethnic preparatory education required by the state, ethnic groups and society well and to promote the improvement of the academic level and achievement of preparatory students. Therefore,it is necessary to explore the relationship between academic self-concept,academic adaptation and academic achievement of ethnic minority preparatory students in China, and to investigate the current situation and trend of the development of academic self-concept and academic adaptation of preparatory students. In this study,387 one-year preparatory college students from universities in Shaanxi,Liaoning and Beijing were randomly selected by adapting the self-concept and academic adaptation questionnaire for preparatory college students. The questionnaire data were analyzed by using T test, variance analysis, mediating effect test and structural equation model to explore the relationship between academic self-concept,academic adaptation and academic achievement of preparatory students. The results show that:(1)There is a close correlation between academic self-concept,academic adaptation and academic achievement of preparatory students.(2)Pre-school students' academic self-concept has a significant positive impact on academic performance, and the impact is relatively stable.(3)Pre-school students' academic adaptation has a significant positive impact on their academic performance.(4)Academic adaptation of pre-school students plays a part in mediating between academic self-concept and academic performance, and academic self-concept has an impact on academic performance through academic adaptation.Based on the relevant research and interview results, this paper analyzes and explains the final research results, and points out that improving the academic performance of preparatory students and improving the teaching quality of preparatory education can start from two aspects:one is to give full play to and mobilize the influence of preparatory students' academic self-concept on academic performance; The second is to give full play to and mobilize the influence of preparatory students'academic adaptation on their academic performance.Through the research, this paper puts forward teaching suggestions to cultivate the positive academic self-concept of preparatory students,to improve their academic adaptation level and to promote the improvement of their academic performance,so as to realize the deepening reform of preparatory education and teaching and the improvement and promotion of the quality of education and teaching.
