Research On The Application Of Rational Emotion Therapy In The Emotional Counseling Of Mothers Of Children With Intellectual Disabilities

Mothers play a vital role in the learning and life of children with intellectual disabilities.Whether the mother of a mentally retarded child has a healthy mentality,good emotions,and appropriate behaviors directly affects the growth and quality of life of the child with intellectual disabilities.However,due to long-term burdens of care,worries about their children 's future,and strange visions from others and society,mothers of mentally retarded children have been suffering from anxiety,irritability,depression,depression and other bad emotions for a long time.Her physical and mental health are not optimistic.In this study,semi-structured interviews and observations were used for data collection and analysis,and problem diagnosis and needs assessment were conducted through participatory observation.The study found that the mothers of mentally handicapped children have bad emotions because of their irrational beliefs.Subsequently,a specific service plan was formulated in four stages to gradually achieve the goal of easing their bad emotions.The intervention part focuses on the service process of case social work on the unhealthy emotions of the client-mainly based on rational emotion therapy,correcting and reversing the irrational beliefs of the client,improving their bad emotions,reducing their psychological burden,and reaching the client The goal of relieving bad emotions.This study takes a mother of a mentally retarded child in Qingyuan District,Ji'an City as an example,using rational emotion therapy-related techniques to find out his irrational beliefs,and through debate and questioning,the irrational beliefs of the service target are shaken and transformed,using rationality The homework will consolidate the effect and gradually help the client develop a rational way of thinking and good behavior habits.Observe the effect achieved through observation methods,self-assessment,and customer satisfaction survey forms.The main conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)Rational emotional therapy has certain applicability in easing the bad mood of mothers with mentally retarded children.This therapy focuses on people's irrationalbeliefs through specific emotions,events,and behaviors itself,and takes the establishment of a peaceful and optimistic outlook on life as a long-term goal.This therapy makes the client's overall cognition of life more rational,daily mood more stable,life attitude more optimistic,and more confident in facing the future.(2)Irrational belief is the cause of emotional distress,not the event itself,so case workers should focus on the correction of the irrational belief of the client.At the same time,the author also summarizes several thoughts about rational emotion therapy intervening in this group,and throws bricks for reference for future researchers.
