Analysis Of The Characteristics, Causes And Impact Of Public Opinion Reversal Events

With the rapid development of the network,public opinion inversion events occur frequently.On the one hand,the network public opinion field formed by such events can serve as the distribution center of public opinion.On the other hand,the frequent occurrence of this phenomenon has also brought about a great negative impact on the society.It will not only breed rumors and cause mass violence,but also affect the credibility of the government and the media,which is not conducive to citizens' exercise of their power,unable to supervise public power organs,and hindering the formation of a good public sphere.Therefore,this paper analyzes the current situation,causes and influences of public opinion inversion events involving public power,which is of great significance for guiding online public opinion and forming a good public sphere.In this paper,using the case analysis,content analysis,through the complex and diverse public opinion paper summarizes such event,from the overall analysis of its characteristics,and is positive case with “The Case of Zhao Yu”,“the incident of college entrance exam answer card was replaced” event as negative case comparative analysis found that the event information and network media platform,users are public opinion such event in the development of the indispensable elements.Therefore,this paper will start from these levels of media,the public and public opinion involved in the content to analyze its characteristics,causes and effects.Firstly,the author selected 20 cases involving public power from 79 public opinion inversion events in recent 7 years,and sorted out and analyzed their overall contents.After the overall analysis,it is found that there are two types of public opinion inversion events: positive cases and negative cases.Secondly,this paper takes“The Case of Zhao Yu” as a positive case and “the incident of college entrance exam answer card was replaced” as a negative case,sorts out its development process,analyzes the communication trend and text content orientation of various media,and conducts an in-depth analysis of the microblog platform.Finally,through the overall and case analysis,it is found that the development of network technology changes the network environment,resulting in the weakening of gatekeepers in the process of information transmission,and a large number of homogeneous information is spreadin the network.In the process of the public's participation in public opinion events,the sense of substitution of events and the pursuit of fairness and justice bring them together and generate great cohesion.However,due to the fact that some of the public are unable to carry out rational communication in the Internet public space,the public's communication in the Internet public sphere turns into sympathy for the weak rather than the maintenance of public power.Therefore,public space should be protected as a center of public opinion,which is conducive to national democracy.However,it should also be noted that the frequent occurrence of public opinion inversion will not only damage the public's cognition and weaken the media's credibility,but also damage the credibility in the online public sphere.
