Investigation And Research On The Current Situation Of The Use Of Expandable Columns In High School Physics Textbooks

The high school physics textbooks published by the people's education press in2004 have five expanding columns: " Saying and Saying"," Doing and Doing","Science Walking ","Science Footprint" and "STS".These columns have disciplinary teaching value for the cultivation of students' core qualities.How about the usage of these columns in teaching is the research problem of this study.Through literature method,this research combs the existing literature,understands the research status of high school physics textbook and textbook column,and defines the concept of "column" and "expanding column";Then,using the text analysis method,from the five content forms of physical concept,concept application,physical history,physical experiments and practical activities and STS,the paper analyzes the expanded column distribution in each content form,and concludes the educational function of each column;Then the author through the self-made questionnaire,survey and interview to understand the attitude of teachers and students to the column,the use situation and the difficulties faced.Finally,based on the analysis of the text and survey data,the author puts forward some suggestions for teachers' teaching.The study results are summarized as follows:(1)In terms of the value of column education,the column of "Saying and Saying" aims to promote the formation of students' physical concepts and the development of scientific thinking;the column of "Doing and Doing" aims to cultivate students' practical ability and scientific inquiry literacy;the column of "Science Walking" and "Scientific Footprint" aims to expand students' vision and help students form correct scientific attitude;"STS" column aims to help students understand the nature of science and establish a sense of social responsibility.(2)Students' attitudes towards different columns are quite different,among which the students in key classes have higher interest and recognition in the columns of " Saying and Saying " and " Doing and Doing ",while the students in non key classes have higher interest and recognition in the columns of " Doing and Doing ","Science Walking" and "Scientific Footprint",In addition,from the use of the column,students generally lack of awareness of independent learning.(3)Some teachers do not pay enough attention to the expansion column and use it in a single way.On the whole,teachers with higher professional titles pay moreattention to the expansion column and use it better than new teachers.In terms of specific columns,teachers pay more attention to the columns of " Saying and Saying " and " Doing and Doing ",and the frequency of using them is obviously higher,but they pay less attention to the columns of "Science Walk","Science Footprint" and "STS",and the frequency of using them is also lower.(4)The teachers' use of the expanded columns is single and lack of awareness of the expanded teaching resources.As for the " Saying and Saying " column,teachers prefer to use the column of thinking,and most of them ask questions directly on the text of the column;In the " Doing and Doing " column,teachers often avoid sensors,but choose to make use of the small objects around the activity for demonstration,students lack of hands-on opportunities;Most of the reading sections,such as "Science Walk" and "Science Walk",are not expanded to allow students to "teach themselves",and even "STS" is used as reading material in the same way.Finally,according to the results of the investigation,some suggestions are put forward for the teachers' Teaching:(1)study the physics curriculum standard,improve the emphasis on the expanding columns;(2)adopt various learning forms and evaluation methods to cultivate students' independent learning ability;(3)grasp the teaching objectives,reasonably carry out the teaching design.;(4)Excavate the teaching resources of the expanding columns,and improve students' interest in the columns.
