As the important forms in teaching material content, the column is an important carrier to realize the goal of the course. How are columns used in new teaching material? How to realise the goal of the new curriculum by developing and implying the teaching materials in the column has the direct influence on the improvement of teaching materials and teachers teaching.The research is based on the constructivism and teaching material view,understanding of the development law of the students and the three theories of multiple intelligences. It is using the method of literature and questionnaire, taking240 students and 17 teachers of physics in Minxian,Gansu province as a research object. The author makes the investigation of the current using status of the column.This research is mainly divided into two parts, making a detailed study of the first part section of compulsory Physics Textbook Series in the number, distribution, from the characteristics, function, classification and so on. The second part is focused on the teachers and students conducted a questionnaire survey from different dimensions.Finally, according to the results of the study, the author put forward the corresponding suggestions by combining high school physics curriculum standards with the theoretical basis from the three aspects: textbooks, teacher and concrete columns’ using.Through the research and analysis, the author found out that different kinds of column quantity and distribution have large differences. The elements in each column have a variety of distribution forms, emphasize particularly and focus on flexible organization. Each column has its unique function of educating people, but some sections’ distribution are not reasonable. On the basis of the questionnaire survey, the results are as follows: The experimental class students would have hands-on column,but rarely participated in the specific implementation; Students just browsed what they were interested in when they had popular science and discussion column class.And the teachers ignored the programs teaching or lacked appropriate guidance; In exercise class, the students only did column exercises which their teacher hadarranged, some part of the contents were paid no attention to; Most of the teachers recognized the teaching column, thinking that the use of good columns was helpful to the teaching; Teachers were reluctant to be a "developer" but preferred to be a "performer" role; Teachers not paying much attention to the column, the tight time,and the lack of the corresponding guiding strategy were the main reasons of restricting the use of column.Finally the author put forward the corresponding suggestions: To increase the quantity of “research column”, and insert the column in the textbooks; To increase "Chapter test", " answers for exercises" and "appendix" column; To increase the development of curriculum resources, to set the "links" column, and to make into two-dimensional code in the form of teaching; To increase the training of teachers;teachers should firmly establish the concept of the new curriculum, firmly follow the new curriculum; physics teachers should pay much attention to the teaching program,a positive development and application program; To Insist on learning to improve themselves; Students and teachers should change the idea: studying for test.
