The economic reform during the past three decades has promoted the development of Chinese manufacturers,in which the front-line employees have played an essential role. However, with the economies advance and industrial restructuring,a high turnover in labor-intensive manufacturers began to appear, which resulted in the serious shortage of migrant workers.According to the dimission and salary adjustment report released by 51 job.com,China's largest human resources services company, the average manufacturing employees turnover was 20% over the last 3 years and staff in production line over 23% which was a lot higher than other positions.Compared with the countrywide situation,Intex doubled the number. Therefore, reducing the front-line employees turnover has become the top priority of its management.Intex Ltd.is an export-oriented and labor-intensive company,96% of its products are exported to Europe and America with more than 55% of market share.Over the years global economics restructure has brought great pressure and Intex constantly adjusted its business strategies to keep business grow at a steady pace, but high quit rate among front-line employees has become a bottleneck of its development. This thesis attempts to review the global representative research of turnover phenomenon and to understand correlation theories as well as various turnover models. On that basis, the investigation plan based on current Intex line workers turnover situation will be designed followed by interview and surveys.Afterwards, through survey statistical analysis, the thesis illustrates the reasons behind the high turnover rate, explores the underlying patterns and then comes up with practical solutions to help Intex to overcome the bottleneck which limits its development.
