Research On The Effects Of Exhibition Industry On Regional Economic Development

Exhibition industry have become one of the most important index for the development level of the state economy or a regional economy,which shares the name of the biggest three “Smokeless industry” in the world with Realty business and Recreation industry thanks to the advantages of high benefit and non-pollution.China's economy developed rapidly since its Reform and Opening-up,exhibition industry is growing by the year average speed of more than 20% rate,and has become more and more diversified,professional,large and internationalized by taking the advantage of the Reform and Opening-up.Exhibition industry played a vital promotion role in expanding consumption and market.In recent years,exhibition industry in Xi'an city has achieved an rapid development,the construction of the hall and the quantity scale of the exhibition has been improved steadily.A series of world famous exhibitions including Euro-Asia Economic Forum,Chinese West-east Cooperation and Fair Meeting of Investment and Trade(CWCFM),Yangling Agricultural High-new Technology Achievements Exposition(AHE),Chinese Western International Equipment Manufacture Exposition(CME),Chinese Western Cultural Industry Exposition(CCE)have been developed,and The 2013 World Horticultural Exposition have been held successfully in Xi'an.The proportion of big brand exhibition is increasing,and the development quality of exhibition industry and the economic benefit are elevating.In order to investigate the influence of the regional economic development by the exhibition industry,the center city in the northwestern area Xi'an has been selected as the research object in this dissertation.In the beginning of this dissertation,the concepts of exhibition,the origin and the development of exhibition industry,exhibition function and the relevant overview of the exhibition new forms have been introduced.Then by setting the theory of industrial correlation and growth pole as the breakthrough point and combining the theory of platform economy.The conclude that exhibition industry can not only increase the economic amount,but also optimize the industry structure,driving correlative industry development and contribute to form the exhibition industrial belt and promote the integration of regional economy.In order to further illustrate the impact on the regional economy by the exhibition industry,the effect and function of Boao Forum for Asia(BFA)have been analyzed and interpreted.In Chapter 4,the data of Xi'an during 2004 to 2015 and the exhibition area have been studied and demonstrated.Explained that exhibition industry have an obvious effect on driving economic gain by the regression analysis.The linear relation between the gross production and the exhibition area in Xi'an is proved.Secondly,in order to further explain the industrial relevant effect,the production value of eight correlative industry including accommodation and catering,tourism,aviation,logistic,etc.in Xi'an has been selected as comparative samples.The conclude has been demonstrated that the degree of correlation between tourism and the exhibition industry is the highest,the holding of exhibition activities can promote the development of tourism obviously.Finally,some suggestions for the development of regional exhibition industry have been provided.
