Since the tenth"five-year", Yixing city's economic experienced rapid increase, but there are some problems with the industrial structure then, the adjustment and optimization of the industrial structure is to choose the leading industries correctly in essence. On the grounds of the stage of economical development, the district can make the correct choice of the leading industry, and make it prioritize, come true the rapidly development of the region. Then the study on Yixing city's leading industries has positive function.The author uses the theories in such multi-disciplines as industry economics and strategic management. Through actual investigation and collection of datum, the author uses static and dynamic means to describe the actuality development of Yixing industry. We found the problem and the factor of industry development. The author uses AHP method and combines the realistic economic conditions of Yixing on the basis of absorbing western leading industry's theory, structuring and including influence power of coefficient, reaction degrees of coefficient, etc. nine indexes on leading industry ; Then the author calculates the interrelated indexes of the existing main industrial sector of Yixing separately. Then we use AHP method and value model to confirm the leading industries of Yixing. Finally, we draw the conclusion that nonmetal mineral production industry ,colored coherer smelt industry, chemistry industry and the special equipment manufacturing industry should be the leading industries of Yixing city, we also give the development proposal and strategy regard to the correspondent leading industries.The conclusion of this paper has good effect on the course of industrialization, the rationalization and upgrading of the industrial structure .What's more, it has certain reference meanings to the decision maker. It has certain reference meanings to the similar area's industrial structure optimization and the choice of leading industries.
