A Study On The Effect Of International Mice On Urban Economic Development

With the accelerating development of economic globalization,the international MICE as the vital component of modern economic system has grown rapidly.With Asian economic development,the international MICE shifted eastwards and the reform and opening-up deepened.Simultaneously,the international MICE in China has globalized increasingly,featuring the number and scale of international MICE on the top of the world.International MICE has already become the important platform and channel of China's contacts and exchanges in the fields of foreign economy and trade.The development of the international MICE has been a new industry among cities.With its rapid development,the international MICE has become a subject worthy of study on how the industry in city becomes the major driving force of city's economic growth by utilizing local advantages in the face of intense competition.Thus,the study of the international MICE has the vital significance to the urban economy and gives a theoretical support for the international development of the MICE in Xiamen.This article is divided into six parts.Chapter I introduces the background and purpose of this study,outlines the methods and content framework and summarizes the literatures about the international MICE at home and abroad.Chapter II introduces the definitions and history of the international MICE,discusses the current situation,time feature and function.This part gives an overview of development about the international MICE in China.Chapter III studies the international MICE's influence of the urban economy with relevant theory and data.We argue that international MICE has accumulation effect,multiplier effect and Industrial linkage effects on urban economic development.Chapter IV analyses the present situation of the industrial scale,venues and supportive policy of Xiamen International MICE.In addition,it introduces the development features,opportunities,advantages and disadvantages of the international MICE in Xiamen.Chapter V is the empirical study with the input-output analysis.It shows that the international MICE has large effect on Xiamen's economic and industrial growth.We use the data of Xiamen exhibitions and international MICE to analysis the direct and indirect influence of the Xiamen urban economy.Chapter VI draws a conclusion from the research results and makes suggestions for developing the international MICE in Xiamen.
