Due to the deep-seated impact of the financial crisis,China entered a period of “new normal economy,” manifesting itself as a marked slowdown in the speed of foreign trade, which requires new points of trade growth to stimulate the development of China's foreign trade.“One Belt and One Road” came into being. In the process of the continuous implementation of the "One Belt and One Road" initiative,China has continued to accelerate the pace of "going global",and its direct investment in countries along the "One Belt and One Road" has been growing rapidly.Bilateral economic and trade cooperation has also continued to increase.Under the guidance of existing theoretical analysis and empirical tests, this paper mainly studies the regional selection of direct investment by countries in China along the “One Belt and One Road” initiative.Based on the analysis of the status quo, this paper uses 2006-2015.The annual panel data is used for empirical analysis to examine the impact of various factors on the location choice of China's direct investment in countries along the “One Belt and One Road”.Selecting the direct investment flow stock of countries along the “Belt and Road” as an explanatory variable, selecting natural resource endowments, market size, infrastructure level, host country political stability, bilateral trade volume, and geographical distance between countries as explanatory variables, and combining Some cooperation and preferential policies provide reference for domestic enterprises to choose the direct investment location of countries along the “Belt and Road” and provide policy recommendations. The paper is divided into five chapters:The first chapter is the introduction, mainly introduces the research background and significance of this article, the research content, frame structure and research methods of the article, and summarizes the innovation and deficiencies of the paper. The second chapter is the literature review and definition of some concepts and the interpretation of the theory. The first is to introduce the research status of scholars at home and abroad;the second is to introduce some concepts of outward direct investment and location from the perspective of different definitions;lastly, the theory of outward foreign direct investment including location selection is introduced. The third chapter is to analyze the basis of reality. That is,the status and problems of China's direct investment in countries along the “One Belt and One Road”.The focus is on the current status of investment, including the country's specific investment status in the countries along the “Belt and Road” route, regional distribution, specific country distribution, and industry distribution, etc. On this basis, the existing problems are analyzed. The fourth chapter is the theoretical analysis and empirical analysis of motivation and factors. The first part is to analyze China's OFDI motivation of the “One Belt and One Road” into three types. The second part is to factor the factors that affect China's direct investment in countries along the route into factors based on the host country and based on the perspective of both China and the host country. The third part is to make three hypotheses according to different motivations, and select representative factors for empirical analysis, including theoretical analysis and assumptions, variable selection, sample and data sources, model construction, model verification, and result analysis. The fifth chapter is policy recommendations.Starting from the different motivations of different companies, and making policy recommendations from the corporate level and the government level respectively,it will help guide domestic capable companies to grasp investment opportunities in countries along the “Belt and Road” and help enterprises.Better choice of investment location. For China, the implementation of the “One Belt and One Road” initiative has greatly contributed to the formation of an all-round opening pattern and can promote cooperation and cultural exchanges with countries along the route to broaden the scope of cooperation. The proposal of the “One Belt and One Road” initiative has provided new opportunities and possibilities for interconnection and infrastructure building along the route of countries along the route.Along with the “Belt and Road” initiative, the countries along the initiative will become China's key investment in the coming years.Regionally,it is necessary to conduct research on location choice.
