Research On The Tourism Efficiency Of Dalian Based On Carbon Emissions

Since the reform and opening up,people's living standards have been improved with the rapid development of the national economy and society.Tourism has entered the ordinary people's home.The demand of people for tourism is getting higher and higher.As a new sunrise industry,the state attaches great importance to tourism.And now,it has gradually developed into one of the pillar industries of the national economy,and plays a significant role in the national economy.The frequent occurrence of bad weather problems has seriously affected people's daily life and work.The problem of climate change has become the focus of the entire country and even the whole world.Carbon dioxide is the most important source of greenhouse gases,and carbon emissions growth has already posed a threat to the global climate.Our country is struggling to take the path of energy saving and emission reducing.Many important measures have been taken.In the 13 th five-year plan,the climate issue has been incorporated into the development plan.Dalian has an advantageous geographical location.As an important coastal city and portal of opening to the world in northeast China,Dalian is rich in both natural and cultural landscapes.All these have promoted the development of Dalian's tourism industry in the early time.In recent years,the Dalian's government has been vigorously developing the tourism industry and has been striving to create the image of “Romantic Capital and Fashion Dalian”.Tourism has become an important growth point of Dalian economy.However,the blind pursuit of the tourism economy exists in the development process.The problems such as unreasonable configuration and resource redundancy are caused.At the same time,it has caused a lot of carbon emission in the process of tourism environment construction and tourism operation.Carbon emission is the bad output of tourism process,which affects the further improvement of tourism efficiency.The calculation and analysis of the tourism efficiency of Dalian under the influence of carbon emission is beneficial to the discovery of problems in the development of tourism.It can provide reference for the healthy,environmental and stable development of Dalian tourism.In this paper,firstly,the carbon emission of Dalian from 2006 to 2015 is estimated by means of the tourism consumptive stripping coefficient and the calculation method of carbon emission.Secondly,the DEA-SBM model is used to measure and compare tourism efficiency of Dalian in two conditions.The first is the calculation of carbon emissions as non-expected outputs,and the other is the calculation of non-expected outputs.Finally,the Tobit model is established.From the perspectives of energy technology,tourism industry scale,industrial structure and transportation facilities,a regression analysis is made on the main factors of tourism efficiency in Dalian considering the impact of carbon emission.The results show that:(1)The carbon emission of Dalian tourism is increasing year by year,and it has apositive relation with the tourism revenue of Dalian.Among them,the carbon emission of transportation,storage and postal services in tourism is significantly higher than that of wholesale and retail,accommodation and catering industry.(2)The development trend of tourism efficiency is similar between the consideration and non-consideration of carbon emission.The comprehensive efficiency shows an upward trend,where the scale efficiency is increased obviously,and the technical efficiency fluctuates greatly.However,after considering the carbon emission as the non-expected output,the comprehensive efficiency of tourism is lower than the comprehensive efficiency value of tourism without considering the non-expected output.Therefore,the loss of tourism efficiency exists.This indicates that carbon emission has a certain restriction effect on the tourism efficiency of Dalian.It is more reasonable and comprehensive to measure and analyze carbon emission as a non-expected output.(3)The regression results of Tobit model show that energy technology,tourism industry scale and industrial structure are three factors that have significant impact on the tourism efficiency of Dalian.Among them,the industrial structure is positively related to tourism efficiency and has the greatest impact.Energy technology and tourism industry scale are relatively small and inversely related.However,the transport facilities have no significant impact on the tourism efficiency of Dalian.Finally,according to the problems existing in the development of Dalian tourism,the paper puts forward some suggestions,such as adjusting the industrial structure,improving the energy technology level and optimizing the allocation of tourism resources.It is hoped that scientific and objective theoretical basis can be proposed for the sustainable development of Dalian tourism.
