Study On The Relationship Between Spatial Structure And Economic Efficiency In Urban Agglomeration In The Middle Reaches Of The Yangtze River

With the development of social economy,the roles of cities in the economic activities are increasingly prominent.And urban agglomeration has become a common social economic activity carrier,carrying a large amount of population,land,resources and human activities during the process of advancing urbanization,However,the agglomeration of population and the development of urbanization will also produce corresponding problems.Whether the spatial distribution structure of urban agglomeration is reasonable or not will directly affect the improvement of economic efficiency in the region.As one of the 'national new key areas of urbanization' mentioned in the 13th five-year plan by the state council,the strategic position of the urban agglomeration in the middle reach of Yangtze river has been pulled up again.Paying close attention to its space structure and the relationship between the economic efficiency,and doing separate analysis on its internal three urban agglomerations groups(ring of Wuhan city circle and Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan urban agglomeration,Poyang lake urban agglomeration)based on the analysis of the whole.This is a deep exploring of the area,which will not only provide the theoretical and practical basis for the future economic development of the region,but also will be connected to national strategy,and effectively promote the rise of central China,even promote the linkage development along the Yangtze river economic belt.This paper describes the urban agglomeration in the middle reach of Yangtze river and also the three urban agglomeration groups from the perspective of population and the spatial structure distribution respectively by the city's first degrees,order size rule as measured index(q)and dispersion.Subsequently,DEA model was used to calculate the total factor productivity in the region from 2006 to 2015,and the variation trend of total factor productivity growth or decline was determined based on the Malmquist index.Finally,build panel data to establish a regression model,using stata14.0 software for data analysis,it is concluded that urban agglomeration spatial structure in the middle reach of Yangtze river and the influence of the economic efficiency,and to bring forward comments and suggestions for the urbanization development and economic growth in this region on this basis.One of the main conclusions of this paper is that the spatial structure of the urban agglomeration in the middle reach of Yangtze river shows a kind of multi-center distribution structure.While within the three groups,Wuhan is obviously the biggest city and has huge gaps with others.The distribution pattern of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan urban agglomeration is more reasonable,and the Poyang lake urban agglomeration has to be improved in both scale and economic development level.On the other hand,the economic efficiency in the region has been increasing for this decade,and Wuhan city circle is the fastest growing area in the middle reaches of the Yangtze river.In terms of the relationship,the paper indicates that single-center structure can well increase the economic efficiency of urban agglomeration,while with the expansion of urban population,the core city of excessive concentration inhibits the development of urban agglomerations as a whole,which will make the core city and the overall lack of economic development in urban agglomeration corresponding energy,and the development of the core city also will be affected by environment.At this stage,the polycentric(multi-center)urban agglomeration will become the development trend.This study focuses on the urban agglomeration in the middle reaches of the Yangtze river and its three major groups.The further study should consider about adding comparison with other urban agglomerations in China to explore the common rules.At the same time,the research methods could also be improved.
