A Study On Inter-generational Economic Support Of Ethnic Rural Families

The problem of aging in our country is becoming more and more serious.rural areas have become more prominent among urban areas.The issue of rural old-age care has become an urgent part of the current pension problem.The infiltration of modern concepts,birth policies and the state's emphasis on rural compulsory education have changed the rural family's population structure,population,and education levels to varying degrees.Are the different characteristics of rural households different for the economic returns they receive in the future? That is,differences in the gender of children in rural families,the difference in the number of children owned,and the level of children's education are different.In view of the existing literature,the number is limited,research is mostly concentrated in urban families or rural areas in the middle and eastern parts of the country.However,in rural areas of remote ethnic minorities,due to various reasons such as economy and transportation,studies on relevant issues have not been covered.In this paper,the annual average income and physical condition of the elderly are taken as the control variables.From the three variables: the child's gender,the number of children,and the level of children's education,the impact of differences in children's characteristics on the inter-generational economic support of ethnic minority rural families is explored.Compare with the existing research results,observe the same differences,and try to analyze the reasons.This paper selects the Baiyingshan,an ethnic minority administrative village,as the actual research site,and conducts empirical analysis on relevant data collection statistics.The empirical research has obtained the following main conclusions:1.When considering only the characteristics of the elderly,when the average annual income of the elderly is lower,the total amount of economic support from the children will be more;the worse the physical condition of the elderly,the greater will be the total amount of economic support from the children;2.There is a positive relationship between child gender and inter-generational economic support,and men still dominate the inter-generational economic support,but this relationship is not significant and tends to be weakened.Women participate in the rural family pension process;3.There is a significant positive relationship between the number of children and intergenerational economic support.The greater the number of children,the greater the total amount of financial support that parents receive.However,the idea that multiple children(females)have more than one pension fund is open to question because of the per capita support amount with children.Increase in quantity and decrease.4.The level of education for children and their generations There is a significant positive relationship between international economic support.The higher the educational level,the greater the number of financial support that children may give to their parents.In order to get more financial support from their children in old age,it is recommended that education investment be increased.
