A Case Study On The Satir Family Therapy Model Intervenes In Intergenerational Communication Barriers Of Left-behind Children's Families In Rural

Against the backdrop of the accelerating urbanization in china,working in urban areas seems to be in vogue for a large number of rural labor.For the sake of household registration,raising and educating children and other issues,many young migrant workers have no choice but to resort to their parents who still live in the country and are able to care for their own offspring.However,there exists a gap caused by different growth environment,living style and values between the two generations which lead to the inefficient communication.Around this background,it should be argued that what gave rise to the communication gap between rural left-behind children and their grandparents in left-behind children's families in rural(i.e.our clients' families),and if The Satir Model does wonders for this dilemma.This research attempts to use The Satir family therapy model to improve the inter-generational communication problems in the left-behind children in village Y.Firstly,professional relationship building skills will be adopted to gain the trust of our clients.And to grasp the basic situation of families of left behind children,Structured interview and participatory observation will be used as data collection methods of this research.Secondly,the problems of clients' families will be predicted and the basis for intervention will be analyzed.Thirdly,according to the collected data,the problem is diagnosed,the causes of inter-generational communication barriers of the service target family are analyzed,and the basic relationship and coping style,communication mode,family rules,etc.of the service target family are evaluated.Finally,with the intervention goal of changing the communication mode and promoting effective communication,a specific service plan including 3-stages and6-steps services will be generated and implemented.This study shows that the application of The Satir Model can have huge implications for improving the self-esteem of members in left-behind children's families in rural,and improving the internal communication model of family rules units.The Satir Model,for that matter,can finally help to form family rules which can serve as catalysts for creating a stable and harmonious environment for left-behind children's families in rural in the reality of grand-parenting.
