The emergence and development of the global value chain division of labor has changed the traditional organizational form of international trade division of labor,so that the division of labor form changed from the traditional inter-industry division of labor and intra-industry division of labor to the type of intra-product division of labor. The production process of product is continuously refined, production chain is gradually lengthened, and intermediate goods trade is rapidly developing. It is becoming more common for products to be produced across multiple countries, and the value of the product is actually shared by many countries, not just the country or region that ultimately exports the product. In this context, the traditional customs statistics cannot truly reflect the whole process of the global value chain and the value-added in different production stages in different countries, and cannot fully reflect the effect of international trade on a country's economic, which tend to overestimate how a country's trade gains in the international division of labor, especially for developing countries that account for a large share of processing trade like ours.On January 16,2013,the WTO and the OECD jointly introduced a measure method, the Trade in Value-Added,and provides a new perspective for us to understand the issue of international trade in the context of the global value chain division of labor. This paper mainly uses the latest data released by the World Input-Output Database(WIOD)in 2016 to calculate the value composition of China's export trade from 2000 to 2014 using the non-competitive input-output model. The article consists of the following six sections:?.Introduction.This part mainly includes the background of the article and the significance of the research, the research status at home and abroad,as well as research methods, main contents and innovation.?.Global value chain division of labor and Trade in Value-Added.This part mainly introduces the origin, characteristics, distribution of benefits of the global value chain division of labor, the form of China's participation in global value chain division of labor, and the put forward and advantages of Trade in Value-Added method, and points out that in the context of global value chain division of labor,Trade in Value-Added method can more truly reflect a country's trade gains.?.Model selection and data source. In this part,we refer to the research experience of previous scholars, and select the non-competitive input output model as the method of this paper. In addition, considering of the availability, completeness and timeliness of data,we select the EU's world input and output data as this article's data source from the four available internationally input-output databases.?.Empirical results and analysis. The core part of the article, mainly use the single input and output data and multinational input and output data from 2000 to 2014 to calculate the value-added both at home and abroad in China's export trade, and from the whole and sub-sectors two dimensions analyze the value of our export composition.?.Re-evaluation of the trade surplus between China and the United States under the measurement of value-added trade.Based on the fourth chapter, this chapter reevaluates the bilateral trade surplus between China and the United States. The results showed that the trade deficit between China and the United States will be significantly reduced under the value-added trade measurement.?.Conclusion.The conclusions of this paper conclude five aspects:(?)Compared with the traditional trade statistics method, trade in Value-Added can reflect the trade interests of a country more accurately.(?)On the whole,China's export trade is very large. However, due to the processing trade accounts for a high proportion,China is generally in the low-end of the global value chain with a low domestic value-added content in its exports.(?)The results of different industries show that the domestic value added in China is mainly concentrated in the processing trade areas such as manufacturing industries.(?)Compared with the goods export, the value-added of unit services trade is higher.(?)The difference in trade calculation methods is a technical factor that has caused the degree of trade imbalance between China and the United States to be overestimated.
