In the field of aviation, especially with the increasement of abundant operation environment, teamwork has played an important role in task accomplishment. From an organizational perspective,a team is defined as an identifiable set of two or more personal interactions. The members of the team interact dynamically, interdependently and adaptively toward target tasks of common value, each member in a team is assigned specific roles or functions to execute specific task. The participation of a new team member can distract the cognition of the previous team and change the communication, coordination and workload in the previous team.A widely mentioned concept is the"shared mental model" on the impact factors of team performance. Many research results show that shared mental models have a good ability to evaluate and predict team performance in different area of teamwork. Some studies define sharing as "distribution",and define the composition of shared mental models as a set of tasks to be allocated among team members. The existence of a complementary team mental model can improve team performance by helping members clarify roles and responsibilities, satisfy information needs of individual and team members, and improve the efficiency of communication. In addition, researches have found that task load and network information quality will influence team performance, but these effects will also be affected by individual working memory capacity. Therefore, this study introduces a complementary shared mental model through complementary information distribution, and completes a series of air defense tasks in a dynamic and high fidelity dynamic distributed decision simulation software(DDD4.0),thus discussing the shared mental model and the influence of task load and team communication on team performance.Experiment 1 mainly discussed the predictive relationship between working memory and team performance.A total of 30 subjects were randomly divided into two teams. The subjects could operate the aircraft to complete investigation, attack and defense work,so as to protect their responsibility area from destruction in the simulation software DDD 4.0.In Taskl, all members of the team have their own responsibility areas, which require the same investigation and defense tasks or the unanimous tasks. In Task 2,the different team member perform different task:The member A is responsible for detecting and marking the enemy aircraft, and the member B is responsible for defense and attack. All tasks need to be carried out two in different work load situation(high load and low load).Experiment two introduced complementary information on the basis of Experiment 1,and the influence of information distribution and workload on team performance was investigated. In experiment two,the experimental equipment, process, and measurements are the same as the experiment one.In the two tasks, the team members perform the same investigative and defense tasks in their respective areas of responsibility. The difference is that the team members get the information that is complementary or consistent with the task related information. In the experiment, team performance was measured by team score and team average time to destroy enemy target.Working memory was measured by OSPAN task.Team communication is achieved through analyzing the number of effective communication sentences in team recordings.SPSS 22.0 software is used to analyze the experimental data and the following conclusions are as follows:1.Taskload has a significant effect on team performance, and the greater the workload is,the lower the team performance is.2.Working memory is a good predictor of team performance. The higher the team working memory is,the better the team performance is.The better the key team members' working memory ability and the better team performance when the task is not consistent between team members.3.Complementary information can set up complementary team to share mental models,so as to improve team performance.4.Working memory and complementary team mental models can partly offset the decrease of performance caused by the increase of task load.5.Compared with team working memory capacity, effective communication within a team can be more effective to team performance. The results show that improving the working memory ability of the individual team members in the UAV team and encouraging the valid communication within the teams can effectively improve the team performance of the UAV team. This research is not only about an extension to the theory of UAV operator team cooperation, but also with a significant contribution to establish a better training and management system of UAV team.
