The 21 st century is the era of knowledge economy,and knowledge has become the core resource of modern organizations.Retention,transfer and creation has become important contents of knowledge management.Shared Mental Model and Transactive Memory System,which closely related each other in the nature and content,are latent cognitive structure of a team.Focused on the basic question of "what's the relationship between Shared Mental Model and Transactive Memory System",the paper analyzed the differences and connections between Team Mental Model,Task Mental Model and Transactive Memory System in two aspects,what was the meaning of "Shared" and what was "Shared".In the perspective of knowledge management and the logic thinking of "Input(Team Mental Model,Task Mental Model and Transactive Memory Systems)— Process(Ambidexterity Learning,Knowledge Sharing and Team Conflict)—Outcome(Team Creativity and Team Performance)",the paper wishes to address:(1)The relationship between Team Mental Model,Task Mental Model and Transactive Memory System,and the effect of Shared Cognition on Team Creativity and Team Performance;(2)Explore the multiple mechanisms of Transactive Memory System in the dual perspectives of promoting positive team process and restraining negative team process.A questionnaire survey was conducted with 32 scientific research teams which were convenience sampled from Shenyang,Changchun and Nanjing.Hierarchical Regression Analysis and Bootstrap were used for hypothesis test.The results showed that:(1)Task Mental Models and Transactive Memory System could positively predicted Team Creativity and Team Performance,respectively.Team Mental Models could positively predicted Team Performance.However,there was a u-shaped relationship between Team Mental Model and Team Creativity,which means that Team Mental Model could not always promote Team Creativity,and the middle-level Team Mental Model was adverse.(2)Task Mental Models and Transactive Memory System played mediating roles in the relationship between the Team Mental Model and Team Performance,and no significant difference between the two mediating effect was found,which means that Task Mental Models and Transactive Memory System were two independent mechanisms of Team Mental Model.More precisely,the two mechanisms worked together and were of equally important in predicting Team Performance.However,the effect of Team Mental Model on Team Creativity was mainly realized by the indirect effect of Transactive Memory System,while the mediating effect of Task Mental Models was not significant.(3)The effect of Transactive Memory System on Team Creativity was completely mediated by Exploratory Learning and Knowledge Sharing,while the mediating effects of Exploitive Learning and Knowledge Sharing in the relationship between Transactive Memory System and Team Performance were not significant.It can be concluded that Transactive Memory System influences Team Creativity and Team Performance through different mechanisms.Specifically,Transactive Memory System may influence Team Creativity by providing more quantity and higher quality knowledge reserve and coordinated retrieval process,while Team Performance may be more about the function of information processing.Finally,the paper pointed out the shortcomings of the research and prospects of the future research.
